People don’t understand why I do what I do. I’ve always been misunderstood. I have accepted this but maybe I’ve gone too far. I just can’t help myself. I like the soft texture, the squishing of them in my mouth. The way they pop between my teeth. And I can’t get enough.

It all started when I worked at the landfill. But that was taken away from me. So I brought my habit home. My family doesn’t understand but I think they’re coming around to seeing things my way. If only people tried it they too would grow to appreciate the feeling of squirming in their mouths. The complex flavor profile. The thrill of engaging in something so exclusive, so… taboo. It’s an experience. A way of life. Nothing hits quite like Disco Rice!

Wow. That was a ride down to sicko town. Haha Robert Essig always writes some crazy stuff. I think this one might have been the most stomach turning. John Wayne is my absolute favorite narrator of all time. The combination of Robert and John is amazing!

Poor Trey, he's got the crappiest "luck." He has a beautiful family at home, Carrie, Elise, and Trey Jr. They aren't his problem, his problem is his craving for Disco Rice. He found the perfect career, SANITATION! His career gives him the opportunity to enjoy his Disco Rice, he just can't get caught. One man's garbage is another man's treat. But as usual his luck comes to an end. Now it's time to figure it out for his family's sake. Sacrifices need to be made.

Disco! Disco Rice!! It's got a ring to it. I had plans for rice tonight but yeah, didn't happen. I think my face stayed scrunched like Renee Zellewegger (sorry), for the entire read. When I read Broth House, I could smell the story. With Disco Rice, I don't want to smell anything. I don't want to see, I can't unsee most of what I read. Please have a strong stomach when reading.

Audible review: I've read Disco Rice. When the opportunity to listen to it came, I jumped on it. Why? Apparently I enjoy torturing myself. John Wayne Communale is an amazing narrator and was the perfect pick for this story. Listening to Disco Rice is not for those with weak stomachs. John Wayne Communale did too well at narrating. It was like he was telling his story with all emotion involved. Give this story a try!!
