A question posed by man since the start of human tyranny is, Why would a powerful ruler who provides everything beneficial for his subjects be suddenly torn away from power? Were there weaknesses in his government? Did he deprive his people of their basic needs and the peace and prosperity they have enjoyed under his rule? Would the usurpers provide what the people need? How could anyone turn against such a kind monarch? This story helps us to understand how wickedness and human selfishness is allowed to continue to this point and why the Ruler himself is not to blame, but the people who rebel against him. This story reveals the consequences of those who choose selfish rule and why it is the course of wisdom to depend on the rightful ruler of a loving Sovereign. The Prince of Ramath is a kind, benevolent ruler of a kingdom in western Asia called Ramath. This idyllic kingdom is a virtual paradise, maintained by peaceful Prince Jivan Vosdanig. His realm is situated in an area where it is surrounded from all sides by hostile and aggressive kingdoms, which eye the Prince's domain as a prize to seize. However, a fragile but peaceful agreement between Ramath's ruler and his neighbors presently prevents any threat of invasion. The year is 1723.But the threat of seizure of power comes from within. The Prince's chief advisor, Diran Gosdantin, has devised a sinister plan to take over power. As Diran's scheme is being contrived, John Cochran, England's new ambassador to Ramath is dispatched by King George I to find out why his seven previous ambassadors left Ramath suddenly without notice.Cochran and his colleagues encounter Diran's subtle threats and intimidations. But the ambassador has a close relationship with the Prince and his family and seeks to help him.The Prince arranges a conference with the hope that he can settle the differences existing between his Kingdom and those of his neighbors. But nothing is resolved. John and his team leave Ramath to report their findings to the King, and this is the opportunity Diran has been waiting for. He seizes power and exiles the Prince and his family to a hostile region in the adjacent country of one his allies. He actually intends to have the Prince and his household murdered on their journey to exile. But the Prince's loyal servant Margos hears about the plan and arranges to have the Prince and family rescued from this diabolical plot. He succeeds, but the Prince's daughter, who is retained by Diran, is forced to become his wife, while his oldest son is forced to join the chief adviser's new army.Find out how John Cochran and Margos work to counter and frustrate Diran's conspiracy and to restore the Prince to his throne. The story is captivating, taking the reader, by John's own personal account, through the harrowing events described in this novel. You will see how friendship and loyalty, as well as other important qualities, come into play, which lead the characters to their experience a successful outcome and a happy ending. "The Prince of Ramath" is a story about an outstanding man,the Prince himself, whose character stands out as one which John Cochran seeks to emulate and in whose Kingdom he desires to reside. The novel is well worth reading as it will teaches important lessons regarding human relations and endurance and hope through the most severe of hardships.
