What does it mean to hijack value?
When a business brings to market a highly successful product, it acquires a customer base: a group of people who regularly buy and come to depend on this business to satisfy their wants. There are countless examples across the market of these businesses. Hijacking of value is not a standard term, but it is a simple idea. When a product has acquired a substantial market value, it is used to sell a different product or idea along with it; we say it is being hijacked or exploited.
