  • S3 EP14: Nick Schuller
    Nov 22 2024

Today we welcome Australian comedian Nick Schuller to the podcast for a chat about his dislike of social media, the genius of Stewart Lee and Nathan Fielder, Moving to London in March 2020 and giving away free bottles of wine at The Melbourne Comedy Festival. We also discuss the UK's fascination with Neighbours, why low quality films are being churned out at the same time as top tier television, and why SAS Australia's premiere was slightly misjudged.

  • S3 EP13: Harry Jun
    Nov 20 2024

Today we welcome Korean-Australian comedian Harry Jun to the podcast to chat about the Scottish obsession with deep fat frying and why he'd love to be a contestant on Masterchef. We also discuss Gen Z's appropriation of our childhood treasures via the rise of retro cool, the bizarre Australian Kids TV Show 'Round the Twist' and why some Americans speak funny, whereby Harry introduces me to the phrase vocal fry. Harry then explains why most Australian comedians tend to know each other and why practical effects in film and TV create an emotional connection that CGI can't compete with.

I should add that when Harry asks if Rob Lowe was in Parks and Rec? I reply 'I don't think so' which is of course wrong. How could I forget?

  • S3 EP12: Paul Savage
    Nov 18 2024

Today we welcome Comedian and Cartoonist Paul Savage to the podcast for a chat about the ever changing life cycle of a comedy set, why putting too much pressure on an opening joke can ruin an act, and why comedians today might need to keep their day jobs. We discuss why actors and footballers aged differently in the '80s, how it was impossible to find a stumbled upon TV show after the fact before the internet, and why '90s sitcoms put so much emphasis on getting your shit together at an early age. This episode was recorded during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2024, where Paul kept mislaying his stapler!
