• Ep. 24 - News You Can Use + Your Secret Weapon for Brain Fog
    Nov 21 2024

This week, I’m still reflecting on the post-election mood and no matter which way you voted, we have to find a better way to understand one another, even when we disagree, and we have to find a better way to understand the facts.

I’m sharing my go-to resource for staying informed without the drama and false info: Mo News, and I’m joined by Mosheh Oinounou, founder of Mo News and former Emmy, Murrow, and Webby-winning Executive Producer.

As a former journalist, I know how overwhelming news can be, especially when misinformation is everywhere. That’s why I’m excited to highlight tools like Mo News that make it easier to get the facts—and why we all need a little more empathy and a lot less noise in our lives. We’re also talking about how Greenwich schools are tackling kids’ device use and why it matters -- and the new secret weapon for MOM brain – Chat GPT.

Don’t forget to check out Mo News, follow him on instagram @Mosheh, listen to his daily podcast, subscribe to his exclusive content, including more in-depth interviews and grab some Mo News merch. You can also connect with me on Instagram @dorothyonTV and visit dorothyonTV.com for That Greenwich Life merch and more.

Thank you to PodPopuli for hosting me in your Greenwich, CT studio and special thanks to this episode’s sponsor: Room for Paws Pet Resort—the ultimate home away from home for your fur babies! With their exceptional care, personalized playtime, and veterinarian-grade sanitation, they made it so much easier for me to leave my sweet golden doodle Bleecker when I traveled. See you next Thursday, and remember—don’t just live your life, love it!

  • Ep. 23 - Just Be A Good Neighbor
    Nov 14 2024

The election is over, and whether your candidate won or lost, we ALL have the chance to choose kindness and tolerance toward each other and reject hate every single minute of every single day. It’s not often on this show that I talk about specific things that happen in Greenwich that involve other people – afterall it’s NOT a gossip show even though some would like to hear the juicy dish on this town.

But the stories I’m sharing this week needed to be told in the hopes that it will inspire us all to be a bit more tolerant of each other and leave any sense of entitlement we may have behind – whether you live in Greenwich or anywhere else in this world.

It's easy to be angry and act on that anger – but it’s also easy to be kind, especially when our kids are watching our every move.

Follow me for more on Instagram @DorothyOnTv and at www.DorothyOnTV.com and head on over to my Youtube channel to watch full episodes of the show. Special thanks to @podpopuli - they take the hard parts out of podcasting by graciously hosting me in their new Greenwich CT studio, and a heartfelt thanks also to this episode’s sponsor: Steam on Greenwich Avenue. In an effort to foster community, Steam has also extended the hours of their lunch special to middle-school and high-school students so they can dine in at their Greenwich Avenue and afford a decent meal in a safe setting.

  • Ep. 22 - My Night With Diddy
    Nov 7 2024

It’s time to tell the story of how I ended up sharing a private moment – and a drink – with one of the biggest rap moguls in music history one night in the early 2000s. He is now in federal custody after being arrested and charged for multiple crimes including sex trafficking with two dozen other lawsuits filed against him accusing him of drugging, assulting and even raping people.

You don’t want to miss this. In the early days of my career as a celebrity reporter working for People magazine, I was paid to party in New York City, and this is only one of dozens of tales from the vault.

  • Ep. 21 - When You're Sick Of Being Sick
    Oct 31 2024

Being sick sucks. Being really sick – I’m talking “hospital” sick, “can’t-figure-out-what’s-wrong-and-you-have-to-see-a-million-specialists” sick really sucks. It’s an emotional roller coaster whether you are the patient or someone you love is. It can be traumatic – I know it was for me when I went through 4+ years of pregnancy loss, miscarriage, and failed IVF – and navigating the healthcare system (and being made to feel like a number instead of a human being) was its own secondary trauma for me and so many others.

But my dear friend, Dr. Tracy Shevell, M.D., is changing that for people – with a focus on women – and helping them navigate the most complex health mysteries while at the same time empowering them throughout their journeys. She joined me in Podpopuli’s Greenwich CT studio on the most recent episode of That Greenwich Life, and shared an action plan for when -- not if – a health crisis strikes. Follow her on Instagram @tracyshevellmd where she hosts regular “office hours” or find out more about her personalized offerings at her website: www.tracyshevellmd.com

She shepherded me through a very confusing medical crisis – a riddle, really with no answer - and for all her clients, she is part therapist, part doctor, all friend. I’m forever grateful to her, and so glad now she is helping so many others.

Visit www. SteamGreenwich.com for authentic dishes like dim sum, noodles, rice, duck and more – and take a night off from making dinner. As part of their commitment to bettering the entire Greenwich community, Steam has even extended their mid-day lunch specials so middle-school and high-school students have a safe place to hang out and enjoy a delicious meal at an affordable price after school. Take a night off from cooking, and order Steam instead to support this amazing establishment in our town!

  • Ep. 20 - The Blueprint Of The Real You
    Oct 24 2024

If you want to live your life as your authentic self – not the person you want others to see – but as you, the real you, then we all know we have work to do and tools to find that can help with that.

One of those tools is Human Design. Never heard of it? Yea, me neither, but I learned a lot this week from my in-studio guest, Brianne Cuttler of Be Aligned, an intuitive life and success coach and expert in Human Design. Before we sat down together, I sent her my date of birth (9/1/1981), my time of birth (7:21 pm) and place of birth (Philadelphia, PA) and she did a custom reading (I know – it sounds like astrology but it’s not), providing info that helps me understand my soul’s energy better so I can more effectively navigate all the energies around me (Brianne – did I get that right?).

It's fascinating, it’s fun and it’s FACTUAL. So much of what she told me, just HIT.

You can find out more (and contact her for your own private session) at her Instagram @Be.Aligned.BC and check out her latest offering with one of my favorite people in the world (and a past That Greenwich Life guest – episode 6 - go check her out), Julie Vincent of Clear Space For Joy. Together, starting Nov 7, they are launching The Joyful Alignment Mentorship, a supportive community for sacred discussions and self-discovery through Human Design, mindfulness, and embodied practices.

My picky kids can’t get enough of the chicken lo mein made with fresh ingredients, so it’s a no-brainer in my house.

  • Ep. 19- What Is Success?
    Oct 17 2024

Have you ever felt like you’re giving maximum effort to something but still feeling stuck? You aren’t getting the results you want, no matter how hard you try. The truth is, there is something each and every one of us wants to change right this very minute – about ourselves, about our lives, about others (good luck with that!), and there's one place we can all start: we can change our definition of “success.”

This week I’m welcoming back to the show one of Instagram’s leading advocates for anxiety healing and mental health. You met her a few months back in Episode 4 of That Greenwich Life, “Are We All Just Imposters?” Her name is Alison Seponara, otherwise known as @theanxietyhealer on Instagram (and my best friend of almost 30 years) and she has created a devoted community of more than 570,000 people who turn to her day in and day out. She’s the author of two incredible books - The Anxiety Healer's Guide: Coping Strategies and Mindfulness Techniques to Calm the Mind and Body, and her new book is currently available for pre-order, The Anxiety Healer’s Guide for Clinicians. She’s a licensed therapist with her own private practice, and she’s the co-host of the highly successful podcast, The Anxiety Chicks.

  • Ep. 18 - Silence Is A Hurtful Thing
    Oct 10 2024

In Episode 18 of That Greenwich Life, your host, Dorothy Cascerceri Simone, is digging into the secondary trauma so many listeners reported experiencing while going through one of the hardest times of their life: The silence of people they considered to be their closest support system. This crushing disconnect can make a dark time darker, and you will never believe (or sadly you may know yourself) how common it really is.

  • Ep. 17 - A Hot Mindset
    Oct 3 2024
In Episode 17 of That Greenwich Life, your host, Dorothy Cascerceri Simone, is digging into what defines “HOT” – and it’s not what you think.

Inspired by a “45 and HOT” Greenwich birthday party she attended, Dorothy brings fellow Greenwich Mom and Head of Community at HeyMama on the show, Penny Goffman to talk about this confidence-based mindset we all need to have, no matter our age.

Stay tuned to the end of the episode for the weekly “Work ON.” Just like we all have our daily and weekly workouts, on That Greenwich Life, Dorothy is leaving you each episode with your weekly “Work ON” -- something small you can think about and do during the week that brings you more peace, balance and introspection.
