The Righteous Uproar

By: Hosted by Tamara Graham | A Live Love Local Michigan Podcast
  • Summary

  • The Righteous Uproar is a political podcast that blends a bit of Michigan moxie with a whole lot of facts. Take a seat, buckle up, or hold on tight, because it’s a wild ride as we navigate the tumultuously swampy waters of U.S. politics and its colorful characters at play. With a focus on both national and Michigan politics, this podcast promises to keep you informed and perhaps provide a little political fodder along the way.

  • Michigan College Democrats: Building a Better Michigan
    Jul 15 2024

Apathy has played a huge role in US politics since, well, forever. That all has been changing (thankfully) over the past handful of years since the progress we have made as a country in the direction of democracy as started being highjacked and overturned.

Having a 19-year-old son myself who is very politically literate and who has, over the past couple of years, has challenged me in my political views to ensure that what I believe and know is really what I believe and know. I ejjoy discussing politics with my son more than I enjoy talking about it with pretty much anyone. We have some amazingly deep conversations.

This experience is what led me to invite the officers of Michigan College Democrats to the podcast, The Righteous Uproar. We recently had a nice chat with three of them, all Gen Z, and all amazing young people who are helping me feel more secure in a solidly democratic future. Adam Lacasse, Pesident; Ethan Lang, Press Secretary; and Stella Camerlengo, Communications Director.

There was an important point made during this conversation that is such an important overarching one to make: these young people have grown up with nothing but political volitility. With the "normalcy" of gun violence at school. It's insane to me that this is their normal. They are far more political than previous generations due to this volitility. It's all they really know. Take that into consideration when listening to this podcast. It sure is a good one.

  • Rudy Howard: Michigan’s 96th House District
    Jul 15 2024

Rudy did his mid-life crisis right. Instead of buying the camero and going a bit wild like a lot of men do, he switched careers and came back to his roots where he was inspired to work to help advance we the people.

Rudy is running for Michigan's 96th House District which encompasses most of Bay County.

In this episode, Rudy and I unpack his platform and discuss important issues facing Michigander's today, especially when it comes to high paying jobs and the cost of living. He's not all about the scare tactics of his rival, but about advancing Michigan and all of her people.

  • Marcia Mansaray and the Power of Unity: Michigan's 85th House District
    Jul 15 2024

When I received the email that Marcia Mansaray was running for Michigan's 85th House District, and that she had officially switched parties to do so, I squealed with excitment out loud, just like a school girl.

Marcia is the recently former Deputy Health Officer of Ottawa County. She's had an interesting past couple of years dealing with the likes of Ottawa Impact and the rouge attempt to highjack our Constitution by their characters at play within Ottawa County. You can listen to both of our podcasts on this subject on our sister podcast, love where you live! here and here or on our YouTube Channel, here and here.

The whole reality TV drama that she has lived over the past couple of years inspired her to serve the people at an even higher capacity.

In this podcast, Marcia and I talk about her platform and the Power of Unity and how it can and does overcome those trying to highjack freedom and democracy while dressed as self-proclaimed saviors.
