Imagination with Intention: Audible’s 2025 Social Impact Report

Today, we’re proud to release Audible’s 2025 Social Impact Report, celebrating the outcomes of our programs for emerging creators and young people around the world. Since our founding, Audible has been committed to creating positive change in the communities we call home. We call this Imagination in Action, as we aim to turn big ideas into tangible outcomes. Our initiatives, led by Audible's Global Center for Urban Innovation, focus on increasing access and opportunities for underrepresented voices, from educational innovations that empower marginalized youth, named Imagination Next, to fostering emerging writers, performers, sound engineers and other creatives with the resources and hands-on experience to grow their careers, named Imagination Fuel.
In 2025 alone, Audible invested $3.3 million in 27 social impact programs across 12 countries and five continents. "What excites me most isn't just what we've done, it's what's possible when you pair imagination with intention," says Aisha Glover, Audible's Global Head of Urban Innovation. "When access opens, when opportunity reaches further, when communities have the platforms and support to tell their own stories, we can move the needle to greater prosperity for everyone."
The report’s numbers tell a remarkable story. Imagination Fuel comprised 15 programs that included more than 3,500 hours of workshops and trainings and resulted in enhanced communication and storytelling skills, hands-on production experience, new career pathways, and published audio stories for more than 660 up-and-coming creators across nine countries.
These initiatives include the Indigenous Writers' Circle (IWC), a six-month program that pairs the next wave of First Nations, Inuit and Métis writers in Canada with Indigenous mentors to guide their development and identify opportunities. Participants have also benefitted from more than 500 hours of support through 20 workshops with some of the industry’s leading creators, publishers, content managers, writers and marketers. "It is a unique opportunity for acquiring skills in a highly structured industry in a very Indigenous way,” reported one graduate from the program. Since the IWC’s launch in 2020, 19 participants have published works or secured book deals.
In Brazil, we helped foster up-and-coming storytellers with our Pitching Project, which invited submissions of audio stories to be professionally produced as Audible Originals. Of 200 submissions, six finalists were invited to pitch in person; the winning project, Qual o Destino?, a thriller confronting femicide in the city of Goiânia, was created by Mikaela Pasa and Lorrana Flores. Says Pasa, “Lorrana and I are used to seeing stories from our region appropriated by outsiders, often without the care to portray our lived experience. Audible always respected our experiences and encouraged us to bring our accents, customs and realities into the story.”
Our commitment to inclusivity and elevating voices is also exemplified by our initiatives focused on supporting young people. Imagination Next empowered more than 1,000 youth in 2025 through 12 global programs. Our award-winning internship program, Future Leaders, was launched in 2007 to offer paid, year-round internships to underserved high school students, with undeniable results: of the 343 Future Leaders to date, 100 percent have been accepted into college, with 75 percent being hired full- or part-time within a year of graduating, as opposed to the national average at 50 percent.
We also leverage the power of storytelling to grow young people’s confidence, creativity and transferable skills. Audible’s Future Stories Fund in the UK unlocks the potential of kids from historically marginalized communities. With more than 530 hours of podcast creation, playwriting, radio and movie production, songwriting, audiobook development and local journalism, the program has had promising outcomes, with 91 percent of participants reporting they believe in their own potential, and 84 percent reporting they can now express themselves through words and language.
None of this work happens without Audible's employees, who contributed more than 4,600 hours of volunteering globally last year, from mentoring program participants and teaching them production skills, to donating their time and energy to local nonprofits.
We are inspired by these outcomes and look forward to harnessing the transformative power of storytelling and imagination to create access and opportunities for emerging creators and young people worldwide. Read the full 2025 report here.
