Publisher's summary
Daniel
In the wake of a horrific attack on his family's home by shifter hunters, Daniel struggles to recover from the injuries he sustained. He can't understand why his body doesn't do what it should, and why his thoughts and feelings seem so foreign and out of control. Though his family do their best to help him, he doesn't know how to tell them what he needs.
Vasile
Vasile is a successful and wealthy farmer, living a decent life with friends he enjoys. However, after peaceful decades together, Vasile and his brood mates suddenly find themselves dealing with rogue wolf shifters that threaten not just their livelihoods, but their safety.
When a case of mistaken identity brings Daniel and Vasile together, they'll have to navigate the minefields of expectations, emotions, and misunderstandings that litter the ground on which they are trying to build their mating, as well as outside forces that seek to drive them apart.
This work of fiction contains material that may be offensive to some listeners, including graphic descriptions of oral and anal intercourse between males. The Susilauma Wolves series contains the True Mates romance trope, no MPREG.

Ryder, Garrett, Kenzo, and Diesel - The Vipers. Their deals are as sordid as their business, and their reputation is enough to bring a grown man to his knees, forcing him to beg for mercy. They are not people you mess with, yet my dad did. The old man ran up a debt with them and then sold me to cover his losses. Yes, sold me. They own me now. I’m theirs in every sense of the word. Obituary writer Nadine Barbault doesn’t mind being called “Lady Death”. It suits the ice queen persona she’s cultivated to survive the fast-paced Toronto Herald. So when Nadine learns that famous (and reclusive) author Dot Voline has died, she doesn’t hesitate to run the obituary…only to discover that Dot is very much alive. Nadine’s screw-up has brought Wesley Chen of the rival Spear no end of joy—she’s been a thorn in his extremely ambitious side for years. But the renewed interest in Dot also surfaced chatter about a mysterious past scandal.

Story
Hockey coach Ashley Jaswal doesn't take nonsense from anyone … except her overbearing and superstitious family. They believe she's a good luck charm for her brother Jas, the newest Vancouver Canucks draft pick, forcing Ash to attend all his games as he rises up the NHL ranks, sacrificing her personal life (not that she has one—who decided hockey season needed to be 10 months long anyway?). Ash also clashes with Jas’s teammate, Canucks captain Devin Snyder.

Story
After watching my mother succumb to a mysterious illness, I promised myself two things. I'd find the cure for what ravaged her and leave the godforsaken city where she abandoned me. Four years later, I received an acceptance letter from Dracadia University, one of the oldest most prestigious schools in the country. Nestled on a secluded island off the coast of Maine, it's rumored to be haunted by the souls of the mental patients exiled there centuries before, those whose bones are said to make up the island's white sandy shores. And restless ghosts aren't even its most daunting peculiarity.

Love this book!! Even better in audio
Daniel is suffering from a traumatic brain injury that results in language issues, memory issues, and an almost child like way of expressing emotions. This does not mean that he is child like; simply that he does not have the hesitation that many adults have in expressing emotions. I think that makes this story come alive in ways that others falter. Vasile is an old vampire that is trying to protect his family from attacks by rogue shifters, which leads to their first meeting. There are misunderstandings and blocks to their mating but it is an amazing adventure to "read".
The narrator is wonderful and while there are some words that might cause you to frown a little, I think that is because it is not how I am used to hearing it in my living area. Hope there are more to come!
This is the second in a series and while you don't have to read the first, I recommend it.

Great second book in the series.
I loved this book! What can be better than a wolf and a vampire being fated to mate? Daniel is adirable in his injured-brain blabbering and Vasile is just what you'd expect from a vampire: protective, caring and powerful.
A really good sequel to the first story!

Best in the series
I think this book was the best one in the series. It has all the feels. Vasile's love and dedication to Daniel mushed my cold black heart.

Blood of My Beloved
I am just so obsessed with this series; and Especially with this book. Everything about Daniel just calls to me I love him so much. He is the most adorable character, you cannot help but love him and want everything to work out in his favor.
At the end of book one Daniel gets hurt in an accident. The extent of his injuries become really apparent in this book and we learn so much about Daniel and how he now struggles with daily life and even the simplest of things sometimes. I think that some of the issue comes from him getting frustrated at the fact he can’t articulate his feelings well. And throughout all his struggles he still maintained his Absolutely Adorable, sweet innocence.
Vasile is such an amazing guy. You can tell that even though he’s drawn to Daniel with their mating/beloved bond it’s just so much more than that. You can feel the pull between them. And you can feel just how much he adores Daniel and it just becomes stronger the more time they spend together.
I Absolutely Hated Daniels Twin brother Chris. He’s such an arrogant condescending douche canoe. Treating Daniel like he’s stupid and can’t take care of himself. The one and only thing he does good is bringing Daniel to visit his home providing the opportunity for the True Mates to meet.
Listening to this book in Audio was immensely enjoyable. John York is at the top of my Favorite Narrators list with this book alone. Not to mention book one of this series being a favorite as well. He really does such an amazing job Narrating and acting out Daniel in such a way that you feel like your right there experiencing everything right along with him. All the Emotions come out in this book. I really just cannot give enough praise to the amount of obvious effort he put into this Audiobook and these characters. Absolutely Fantastic. I know without a doubt I will be listening to this book and the whole series numerous times.

the beginning was hard to listen to as Danny struggles with his TBI (so many feelings!) but the story over all was very moving.
