Publisher's summary

The Library of the Profane has everything your black heart desires. But we don’t just allow anyone to get a library card.

Need to summon a demon? Raise the dead? A clan of vampires bothering you? Do you like the really nasty werewolf erotica? The Library of the Profane has all of that, but not everyone can handle the contents (Some people can’t handle their werewolf erotica). I’ve been a librarian here for five years and when I say I killed to get this job, I’m not being facetious.

You can’t check out our books. Some of the books are sentient and don’t like it. We have rooms to perform the spells in or hell, we do have a copy machine (copies are extra). When a witch came in and said they needed to do a little necromancy, I didn’t question it. They wouldn’t have been given a library card if they were going to raise someone really bad. I helped with the necromancy because it’s just my job as a librarian.

Except it wasn’t a normal resurrection. It was the physical embodiment of Chaos and when he woke up, he saw me first and now he’s attached. Chaos personified is a horrible library guest and he won’t leave with the witch who raised him. He’s constantly getting into things he’s not supposed to and he’s really into the werewolf erotica.

It’s not like I can let him out because the Library of the Profane is meant to contain Chaos. The rest of the world isn’t. He’s awful about keeping his identity secret too. A warlock, a Hellhound, and a vampire know he’s here and they are bugging me to let Chaos have a little fun.

I just want a normal day of summoning demons, cursing people, and telling people to be quiet in my library. This is too much.

A sexy librarian and all her men

Fun book with an interesting and unique plot that's easy to follow. If you like God's that tell you you're going to be his wife, talk of werewolf cock, shifters, vampires and more then take a read. There wasn't much sexy time, instead it sets up the characters for this future reverse harem. you're left on a minor cliff hanger and I plan to look for the next book now.

Love love love!

I adored this wonderful story from the mind of
JB Trepagnier. She has a way of injecting humor and heat throughout her books that is utterly fascinating. The full cast is fun, and I swear the voice of Felix sounds just like Rege-Jean Page! It’s lovely and fun and I highly recommend it.

Entertaining!

This was my first JB Trepagnier's book, and won't be my last. This is the first book in The Library of the Profane trilogy. The cover is beautiful. OMG! This book is funny, steamy, entertaining, and captivating. This slow burn paranormal RH romance is unique and original. Ripley, the librarian, is such a fantastic character, sassy, and feisty. She is hilarious! Her men are intriguing: Reyson (the God of Chaos), Felix (a familial turned back to a Warlock), Balthazar (a Warlock), and Gabriel (a vampire). The supporting characters are interesting, even the bad guys. There is a lot going on in this installment. The storyline has humor, steamy scenes, intrigue, and twists and turns. The cast of narrators is impressive. Anneliese Rennie, Portia Kay Winters, Austin Barringer, Carl Mason, Antonio Amato, Aaron Shedlock, and Liam Di Cosimo did an excellent job with the narration. I enjoyed it. If you like Paranormal RH Romance, filled with steam and humor, this one is definitely for you. Looking forward to listening to Discord, the second book in the trilogy to know what happens next.

Wonderfully Entertaining! Awesome Story & Listen🎧

JB Trepagnier pens another fascinating paranormal fantasy reverse harem romance novel, and she cast the perfect line up of narrators to bring it all to life from the pages to your ears. This story is well written with original storylines that are captivating from start to end. The character development and world building is brilliant, this first book of the series lays down the foundation of what is coming and you can tell it is going to be something major and mind-blowing. I am loving the personalities of all the characters and how each is being brought into the story and I am looking forward to not only see them work together but how it is all going to work out. Yes, I am keeping it vague and spoiler free, it is best to go in and learn about it all for yourself. You will love this colorful hodgepodge of paranormal characters, with Ripley, a witch and the librarian of the Profane Library, front and center followed by her familiar, Felix, a cat and then the rest of the motley crew trickling into the library, requesting library cards, starting with Chaos, a god, Gabriel, a warlock, Balthazar, a vampire, Bram, a hellcat, and several other imaginative characters including Dorian Gray. There is never a dull moment in this book, the story is cleverly plotted with a perfect balance of intriguing drama, snarky humor, witty dialogue, and a slow burn romance. JB Trepagnier, thank you for another great story and the fun and wild ride, I am looking forward to what comes next for these fascinating characters.

🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration and talent, whose performance took an already great story to another level of greatness. Anneliese Rennie, Portia Kay Winters, Austin Barringer, Carl Mason, Antonio Amato, Aaron Shedlock, Liam Di Cosimo played their roles with a complete understanding of the characters they were portraying, giving each a voice that grasped the character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable and just as I pictured they should sound. Each handled their witty dialogue like the masters they are and landed the humor effortlessly with excellent timing and pacing. These versatile voice actors are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this wonderful listen.

Funny and Unique!

I’ve been meaning to read this series for a while now and when I heard about the audiobook being released I leapt at the chance to listen to it, I wish the rest were done already because I don’t want to wait to read more lol. It was so good! The story is so unique compared to other RH books and I love that it’s a mixed H, and I’m a sucker for a good library/librarian story. There’s not a ton of heat but I love the dynamics, I love the emphasis on consent and wooing, and I love that even the big bad god asks for cuddles.

I don’t want to give too much away but I love the world building and the various walks of life with their prejudices being questioned and challenged, as well as the kind of mystery element to the story. All the characters are likable so far too, which rarely happens. There’s usually at least one that I could really do without lol but these all work so well together and I can’t wait to see how the commingle later.

The only reason I left a star off for performance was because there are some issues with the audio itself. There are a few places where the voices are all different volumes, for example after Felix is changed up until about chapter 23 his voice is super quiet, but if you turn up the volume to hear him, your ear drums are nearly broken by Ripley’s. And then later in chapter 28 there are parts that overlap and it’s very confusing and hard to understand what’s being said. But otherwise I really enjoyed the book and the multiple narrators. I will be looking forward to the next ones ☺️

So entertaining!!!

Let me start by saying I asked for a free copy of this book for my unbiased review after I read the blurb for it.

From the beginning of the book, I was entertained. The snark and the humor is on point. I love all the different narrators, it gives real flavor to this story. Some of them I've enjoyed from other books.

I thought I was just getting something to fill in as background noise while I worked but was so very pleasantly surprised by this book, although I found myself frequently stopping my work to listen to the story.

This is a great listen and I can't wait to hear more.
