About this listen

One single act can change a person's life for good - or bad - and every choice comes with consequences. Sarah De Luz must forge a path through resistance to save those she loves while struggling with her own inner demons.

A late-night excursion takes Sarah to Chase Pond, her one true refuge. She soon finds there are formidable secrets hidden under the dark waters of the pond. A wealth of knowledge about man's quest for longevity and love is waiting to be discovered. But whispers of war and unspeakable horrors loom in the shadows, waiting for her to choose a side.

Haunted by her past and driven forward by fate, she must fully embrace her destiny and awaken, even if it means losing her identity in the process.

Note: This book contains sexual content, adult situations, and profanity.

interesting idea and good execution

Good book. The character is not allowed to go in to the sun. The story doesn't make this a primary focus but it can tell an interesting tale and show how a character has to deal with her specific adversity.

Narration can make or break it. It broke it

I strongly recommend that Audible gets a new narrator and release the book or else they will get a lot of returns on their hands. Performance is completely horrible! I still have 4 hours left to go on the book and I am gritting my teeth just to get through it! Honestly this is the worst I have ever heard. I don't like to criticize narrators harshly because I know its not easy and I wouldn't be able to do a good job, but this is just terrible. Completely wrong narrator for this book.
1) the main characters voice is very young and whining sounding not appealing at all. I felt extremely uncomfortable listening to the explicit scenes in such a baby voice, it felt like the character was way too young and immature to be engaging in sexual activities. So much cringe and creepiness, I feel like its almost illegal to even listen to it - ugh!
2) The male voices were horrible as well, one monotone voice that sounds robotic at all times no matter the situation, Ben Stein would have had more range of feeling.
3) Story line wise, there are too many back to back sexual scenes, needs to be broken up and spaced out more, too much sex at once can get boring to listen to. And also there are too many sexual scenarios that closely copies FSOG .
I would pass on this one until or if they change narrators.
