Author always has a knack of keeping you on your toes with the plot! This book is no exception. I won't give any examples since even small ones would be spoilers. What I can say is that even though this is a romance/erotica, it does not lack a compelling plot line. Lots of drama, pain, and triumph.

My one complaint is that I find that the word purr is used far too often during sexual encounters. I find it takes me out of the scene as I start to think of this as a feline romance, since "mewing" is also used as an arousal noise. (full disclosure: I do have ADHD so I can be easily distracted) but I would have liked if the author could find other sounds that the females could make.

Narration is done very well. Every character has their own voice and personality. You always know who's speaking. Italian accents sound a bit overly done, but my "Italian accent" is atrocious, so no judgment from me. I find her narration speed excessively slow. I recommend listening at 1.40x. I increase speed to 1.60x to make it have a more natural flow.

I truly recommend this book and whole series. It's honestly a series where you can say you read/listened for the storyline (as well as the steamy bit). 😉

Was simply incredible with the oration of this book. The story written by Red Phoenix was also brilliant. On to the next book! (The only drawback is that these books are WAY TOO SHORT! It makes them extremely expensive.) Before you purchase a book or use an Audible Credit, check out the number of pages of each book. Just my two cents...
