About this listen

Daniella Clark has never fit in - a fact she's always blamed on being adopted. But when her body is overtaken by a need so fierce it defies human explanation, she turns to the one man she instinctively knows must have the answers she seeks - her sexy-as-sin neighbor. But his explanation isn't one she can easily accept, and it means her sexual heat won't go away without his help.

But it turns out her neighbor isn't the only male she has to worry about. The prime of his people has laid claim to her. And though he radiates sexuality in a way that makes her mouth water, he's more beast than man. With one weretiger charged to protect her, and the prime's plan to claim her for his own, Daniella must fight to maintain her sense of self, even while they fight for her.

Feisty heroine goes a little over board

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The writing could have been tighter. There was some unnecessary repetition and some dwelling on details that didn't move the story forward. Nothing major, but not tight as it could be.

What was most disappointing about Andie Devaux’s story?

The heroine's voice didn't quite work for me. She was a very strong heroine in some ways, like standing up to the pack Prime, Eric and calling out "BS" when she sees it. However in other ways, she didn't quite resonate as a strong character for me. When her mate tells her to run from danger, she does. I wanted her to stay and fight. This would have been more active and fun to read than reading about her running, then returning to the scene of the fight and not knowing what had happened to her mate.

The mystery serves the story, but it felt out of character for this feisty gal.

I was also thrown for a loop by the reason the hero, Owen, and the heroine, Daniella, came together intimately after a lot of excellent tension. The tension evaporated with a certain revelation. To me, this wasn't enough to motivate them both to abandon their reasons for staying apart.

Another drawback for me was how cerebral the story was. This is a voice preference issue. I would have liked more of the story to unfold in dialog and action rather than in character internals.

Overall, just not as gripping a tale as I would have liked.

Which character – as performed by Carly Robins – was your favorite?

Eric

What would have made this romance irresistible?

The story just didn't quite do it for me. Just a taste thing. Someone else might just love this sexy shifter story.

Excellent series start!

Sexy & exciting, characters introduced in an engaging way. I love shifter & menage books. I just bought the rest of the books for my kindle :)

Cliff hanger ending warning! This was an exciting story. Enjoyable and interesting characters were just getting me into the story and then it ended.

Good Storyline

This is the first in a series by Andie Devaux. The story about weretigers is interesting and leaves you wanting to move to the next book in the series.

Good story so far. Can't wait to read the next one. Wish all were in one book. Good even though.

I hate that one book is cut off into 4 books

I hate that this book is broken up into "serial fashion" and each small edition is so costly.
