Where does Cowgirl Up and Ride rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Lorelai James continues to deliver. Each book continues from the last one BUT each one is absolutely different. You just never know where the next story is going to come from. Her range of ideas is fantastic. I think she really is amazing. Where does this imagination come from???

Who was your favorite character and why?

Both Cord and AJ. Each one is special in their own way. I'm not one for spoilers so I won't give any info. Each book delivers more and more in depth incredible material that will definitely keep you entertained.

What about Rebecca Estrella’s performance did you like?

Rebeca CONTINUES to be an asset to these already amazing books!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

RAWHIDE... at it's steamy best!

Yes, book 1 = amazing, book 2 = amazing, book 3 = amazing and it just goes on and on and on....

One helll of a book! Had me at go! I couldn't stop listening. The story line was amazing and the sex was on fire, I will definitely continue on in the series! I have so many audio books in my collection, and I have a feeling these will be the best. I have been looking a while to find a book that I could NOT put down, and this was it! Happy listening!

I love this book. How Aj got what she wanted all her life and how some guys are hard headed at times that they miss out on something good. I like this so much I have the printed book as well.

AJ has loved Cord since she was five and he rescued her from a rattlesnake encounter. She has finally decided to see if she can get him to love her back. Great ending.

I read this series in the past but am just finally getting around to listening to the audiobooks. I love AJ & Cord's story. It's a little bit sweet and a lot dirty. These two make sense and their chemistry is off the charts. I love the family dynamic in this series. Once you've finished one couples story they aren't just gone, they will be back in other books so you still get to see what is going on in their lives! I loved how bossy Cord was and mad the sexy scenes were very steamy!

The narration isn't great in my opinion. She is a good narrator but this is a series about cowboys, where are the accents? If she has added an accent I would have enjoyed the narration more more.

This is one of my favorites in this series along with AJ & Cord’s story, which I love, there are so many teasers to future (& past) storylines; Skyler & Kade, Chassie & Trevor, India... Colt & Channing, Macie & Gemma becoming mommas. This whole series just sucks you in!

Would you listen to Cowgirl Up and Ride again? Why?

I have read this book many times because it is one of my favorite in the series.
I was really expecting Scarlett Chase narration because she has the accent and expressions perfect for Wyoming cowboys and the women and other characters. Please bring her back....
The narrartor sounded the same throughout the book. Nothing special, it didn't give me what the book and the Black Top series gives me with Scarlett Chase, she delivers!

Great Love Story with a spin! Hot and Steamy?

This Series is the first books I read that started me on my love of reading. When I seen that there was i found this audio book I had to buy it and it was great to listen to it. Will definitely be buying the other audiobooks in the series till I have them all. If you like listening to books I recommend you add this to your library.

Book 3 of the Rough Riders series may be the best so far. It has strong and varied sexual content, as well as character development and emotional pull. A really well-done erotic romance.

Plot Summary:
Twenty-two year old AJ has been in love with 37 year old Cord since she was 5 years old. Though he feels too old for her and insists that their affair be secret with a finite end of six weeks (when his son Ky returns home), he can't resist the temptation. A sub plot is what is happening to Colt, Kade, Kane and Dag, the roommates of the Boar's Nest who are abusing sex, drugs and alcohol for various reasons. There are three POVs: AJ, Cord and Kade.

Pros:
The relationship building was really good and both characters grew for having been together. Cord learned to love again after his divorce, AJ learned to expect more from a relationship. The ending where Cord wooed AJ from a distance was particularly touching. This book was more emotional than most erotic romance and I felt more invested in the characters.

For erotic fantasy this had something for everyone. I liked that the H/h relationship employed mild Dom/sub and was more believable and progressive than a lot of erotic romance which shows the H/h doing everything imaginable. The harder core stuff with multiple partners and rear-door activity was reserved for the Boar's Nest characters. The sex scenes were plentiful but did not feel gratuitous as they advanced the H/h character and relationship development (he was teaching her about aspects of sex after all.) Particularly nicely done scenes include Cord dropping off papers to sign and AJ giving Cord a massage.

Cons:
The Cord, Colt, Cash, Carter, Colby, Channing, Carolyn and Ky, Keely, Kane, Kade names was confusing not only to the reader, but apparently also to the author as Colt is accidentally used for Cord on four occasions and clearly missed in proofreading. Obviously the naming is not an accident, but I'm not sure why James has made this choice. Most authors work hard to avoid this type of confusion and to make their stories easier to read by giving character different first letters.

Though I liked the dialog. in some longer exchanges it needed more attribution. I found myself not knowing who was saying what a few times.

This was a very good book.
