About this listen
Amid a series of dates with "the nice Indian doctor" and an office scandal that could permanently end her career, Vina starts to question everything she's been working for. Who has she been trying to please all these years? Is this the life that she really wants? Can she finally learn to put aside her family's expectations long enough and become the girl most likely to find a happiness all her own?

Disappointment
From the description I thought I would really like this book, I didn't. The author tried too hard to create another Carrie Bradshaw and it all came across very cliche - the characters, the lifestyle, etc. Vina wasn't very likeable so although I finished it, I just didn't care what happened to her. The narration wasn't very good either. The narrator made the "best friend" sound like a guy and the "love interest" sound like a complete idiot. Not sure what was going on there, but it made me like the book even less.

Boxed In
Vina is at a high in her life. A New York apartment, good friends, and a job she's good at even if she doesn't like it much. Now, if she could only get her parents to lessen the pressure for her to get married. She's already accepted that she wants to be married by the time she is thirty so she really doesn't need to be set up again. There is pressure all around her. No wonder she gets claustrophobia. Something needs to change. And it does, Funny and light this is a splendid novel.
Gabra Zackman, a new name for me, is really funny and a good narrator.
