About this listen

"If both of us haven't found the person of our dreams before we're thirty, we have to marry each other."
It could be a sweet pact, but when it's between sworn enemies, it gets less sweet, real fast.

Sparks fly in this game of dare that is set on a collision course. Fueled by a rivalry that spans more than a decade, these two headstrong adversaries might have bitten off more than they can chew.

Meet Emma and Trevor, two fiercely independent individuals whose competitive spirits and sharp tongues have kept them at odds since childhood. Yet, as fate finds them both down on their luck, they make a daring pact: if neither has found true love by the time they turn thirty; they have to marry each other.

The clock's relentless ticking fuels the scorching chemistry simmering beneath their relentless banter. But while Emma opens her heart to the prospect of love, Trevor has a different goal in mind. He finds himself sabotaging her countless attempts at romance, secretly longing for her to remain forever his to claim.

As Emma navigates a whirlwind of disastrous dates, she can't shake the feeling that someone or something is pulling the strings. Will their explosive animosity transform into an passionate love? Or will this dare lead them down a path they never expected?

The narration was bad

The narration was not good and there was no intonation or emotion behind it. Not a fan of the virtual voice.

One of the main characters not dealing w/his past

I liked the story line. I did not care for the narration as she (well AI I learned at the end) jumped from one scene to another in places & it was confusing. Also, I didn’t like that it was told in 3rd person sometimes but then in 1st person other times & it didn’t seem to flow smoothly during those times.

The MMC was Toxic AF...

I liked the concept of the book especially the forced proximity portions but the toxicity between Emma and Trevor was bad. I found myself shaking my head a lot and cringing at the MMC, but I had to get to the end of the book.

I felt for him based on his childhood trauma but that was no excuse to treat the MFC so bad. It was like he was bipolar. I'm all for second chances but dag on it, Emma went through a lot of getting torn down.

Based on the overall concept, I'd listen another book from this author.

I thought the voice was not so bad

I didn’t like the story that much there was like to much happening and I didn’t get hooked on it and I thought that that was sad because in the big paragraph thing below the book that tells you about it it sounded interesting then after listening to it it wasn’t very good

Please stop using AI

Great story. Sweet, interesting and well told. The AI narration is awful. Please stop using AI.
