McKay-Taggart operative Riley Blade has no intention of returning to Los Angeles after his brief stint as a consultant on mega-star Lyle Tarpin’s latest action flick. Not even for Natasha Black, Tarpin’s sexy personal assistant who’d gotten under his skin. Why would he, when Tasha made it absolutely clear that - attraction or not - she wasn’t interested in a fling, much less a relationship.
But when Riley learns that someone is stalking her, he races to her side. Determined to not only protect her, but to convince her that - no matter what has hurt her in the past - he’s not only going to fight for her, he’s going to win her heart. Forever.
The Lexi Blake Crossover Collection features a new novel by Lexi Blake and five books by some of her favorite writers: Close Cover by Lexi Blake, Her Guardian Angel by Larissa Ione, Justify Me by J. Kenner, Say You Won't Let Go by Corinne Michaels, His to Protect by Carly Phillips, and Rescuing Sadie by Susan Stoker.

Too short and not really a blend of the Taggert/Stark world!

Good story. Questionable choice for narration

Although other reviewers mentioned they didn't like Ryan West's reading, I actually thought it was good, and the tense switching was what I didn't like.
The storyline overall was okayish, though somewhat unbelievable as a part of the MT world (showing up to the club already dressed, somehow being able to afford beachfront property in Malibu)...maybe it was just that it didn't seem well researched? I'd still listen to it to not miss out on a MT storyline, but I wish I would have been more mentally prepared that it would be one to slog through.
Tense switch frustration

The writing style for Natasha drives me crazy. It just doesn’t fit. I like the writing style for Riley’s character so much more.
So-so

I picked the book as an offshoot of Lexi Blake's Masters and Mercenaries series. On that point it worked fine. This is just one that I'd have preferred to have performed by a female or duet or just have read the book myself.
Why a Male performer?
