book 1 was good but this was much better, he thought he was incapable of love but she got under his skin.

I swear I have a life, a job, my obligatory 2.2. kids but I could NOT put these two books down! They both just felt so real! There are no navy seals, no sexy firefighters, and no shifters no paranormal at all...they just both had the feel that this COULD happen in real life, and they just swept me away because of it!

In book 1 we saw Sophie Black being left with a choice...her estranged husband who has been carrying on a multiple year affair with another woman....or her lover Lucien Knight who has walls over walls protecting his heart from any emotion.

In book 2 we see Sophie working through her choices....like a NORMAL person! Does she want to fix things with Dan? Does she even want anything with the emotionally closed off self professed hater of the word "love"...or should she begin her own life without either of these two men?

This book was just as good as the first, if not better. We get the conclusion to Sophie's story...and we find out a few more things about Dan and Lucien...and of course Sophie too. The hot rating is still HOT...and the mind eroticism may have slowed down some, but with emotions running rampant it would be misplaced to have too much of that going on.

I would like to offer my sincere thanks to the author for not inciting drama for the sake of continuing the story arc...it flowed perfectly without misunderstandings between the characters and contrived drama, this hit all the right buttons and then some!
I can’t recommend this series enough!!!! I'm off to download the third book, which I hear is Kara's story.

Claire is a fabulous reader! I liked the story very much, and Claire knows just when to speed it up or slow it down, making you feel like it's happening to you!

The heat & chemistry between Lucian and Sophie is off the charts!! Not only are they a perfect couple n the bedroom (or where ever they happen to be) there is still a down to earth feel about their relationship...Loved it!

I wanted Sophie to ditch that scumbag husband once and for all and run straight back to Lucien's bed but I guess she has some things to work through to get to that point.

Lucien is developing feelings for her that he just can't deal with because that complicates things for him and breaks his rules.

Sophie can't be with someone that she can't have a HEA with but how can she make Lucien see that he can have that with her?

Can she resist his seductive charm and just have a professional relationship with him?

Lucien brings out the sexual goddess in her and she loves it but can it be more?
