Over the last few months, things have been rough. Alex lost his job, and the market turned against him. Suddenly, he realizes that he’s taken on a lot of debt—too much. He’s tried to cut back, but nothing seemed to help, and the numbers keep going in the wrong direction. Considering this run of awful luck, he needs a distraction, so he’ll try something new: online dating.
As he skims the apps, he doesn’t think anything is really going to come of it. Still, it’s a minor distraction, so he continues to swipe left and right until he sees her: Maya. She is absolutely beautiful, and he finds himself utterly entranced by her profile. That’s why he hopes there’ll be a match.
