My mother used to say that everything happens for a reason. It didn't matter how insignificant or how heart-wrenchingly tragic, she'd say it was just meant to be. She truly believed that if a person was patient enough, looked hard enough, for long enough, they'd be able to find their silver lining. Her faith never faltered. Facing difficult times with strength and determination, my loving mother would wait, no matter how long it took. It might have taken her months or even years, but my mother would always be able to find that light shining at the end of the long, dark tunnel.

I say bullshit. There is no f--king silver lining. Shit happens. Hard times are just a part of life, like the air we breathe. We have to learn to deal with the hand we are dealt and move the hell on. Yet every damn time something f--ked up happens in my life, I find myself thinking of my mother. If she were still alive, I wonder what she'd have to say about everything that's happened in my life over the last year. Would she be able to find my silver lining? Because I sure as hell can't.

I liked Maverick, he was a good guy, very selfless and hot! He is a biker with the weight of the world on his shoulders or so he thinks anyways. Hensley (great name btw) and Maverick had the best banter, she was witty and together they were hot hot hot. Can't wait for book 2 on Audio!

I enjoyed the narration too, I hope he's narrating the rest of the series too.

Sweet, Fun and Sexy!

This story was so raw, and poignant, yet fun and very sexy! It started out so emotional I wasn't sure I would like it. But I stuck with it and was so glad I did! Maverick endured several heartbreaking events in his life and had a hard time trusting anyone outside of the club. He was very sexy but also moody and grouchy. That is until Henley saw a member of the club murdered and he was in charge of protecting her. Henley is a smart, hardworking, sweet girl. She is attracted to Maverick and would do whatever it took to make him smile. There were so many funny moments, along with thrilling, heartbreaking, and heartwarming events as well. I really enjoyed the narration and found T.A. Wellington's delivery to be spot on, losing myself in this story. I think this is a great start to this series and am looking forward to more.

So this was my first audible. Overall it was not a bad story to have read aloud. There were a few points that the narrator read the same line but it wasn't enough to distract from the story. I thought the narrator did an excellent job of distinguishing between characters. He was able to have a unique voice for each, including the inner dialogue for Maverick.
The story is one of my faves and I love L. Wilder. I highly recommend this to anyone.

If you are looking for an amazing MC book this one should be one you should consider. I so loved this story. You will find so much in this story. You get to read about the brotherhood that you expect in an MC. You get to read of hurt, loss, betrayal, conflict, hope, and love. This story truly has a lot in it.

I love that the author touch on Down’s syndrome and the struggles a child and their family and friends go through. The cruelty of some children that do not understand Down’s syndrome. The author touch on how expensive it can be for a parent with a child with Down’s syndrome. Dusty is a 10 year old boy in the story. He suffers from Down Syndrome. His mom and his sister are having to help him deal with the lost of his dad on top of their grief. In this book you will so fall in love with Dusty, he will truly steal your heart. I am happy the author had him in several places of the story.

Maverick was this sexy hunk of man that was in the Satan’s Fury MC. My heart broke for him. He had been through so much. His ex was dead and now he has to make a decision to keep his son or to give him to someone else that could give him a better life. Through ever decision Maverick makes you can see what an amazing man he really is. The problem is every thing he has been through has put him in a dark place.

Henley was an amazing woman. She was young and in college. She ends up seeing a murder she should not see. Henley is in danger and she must rely on Satan’s Fury to keep her safe.

I love the chemistry between Maverick and Henley. Henley is a handful but she truly has her heart in the right place. She longs to bring some happiness to Maverick’s life. All the darkness that is surround Maverick he truly needs Henley to shine some light his way.

Maverick will be forced to face his true feelings he has toward Henley and he finds that he can not live with out her. Henley will risk her life for the MC and the man she loves. This will be almost more then Maverick can bare. Will Maverick be able to get to her in time to save her?

Compared to other MC stories I listened too, Maverick's on the milder side. It has a good mix of drama, action, romance, and great characters. While the plot was on the predictable side, there's plenty of drama with hero, the MC, and heroine to keep the story moving at a good pace and keep the listener engaged. The relationship between Maverick and Henley was the best part. Henley had a playful teasing personality and brought some much needed color to Maverick's life. I loved the pranks she played on Maverick.

After Henley witnesses a murder of one of the Satan's Fury MC members, the MC takes her into their own "protective custody," while they search for the killer. The Sergeant of Arms, Maverick, is haunted by his past, but is determine to keep her safe. He blames himself for past mistakes and walks around with a lot of guilt. The more time Henley spends around Maverick, the more she wants to make him smile. Their relationship feels natural but blossoms quickly. She's there for Maverick when he has to face his past, and make decisions; however, she gets restless waiting for them to catch the killer, and devises her on plan that goes wrong.

T.A. Wellington did a great job with the narration, and made it easy to distinguish between characters.

This is an excellent story (and start to series) for someone who would like try the MC romance genre with a story that's not too dark or emotionally draining. It's a story of forgiveness, acceptance, love, redemption, and has some tough but heart-warming situations. I received this from publisher in exchange for an honest review.

This Audiobook was given to me for an honest unbiased review. This was one of the best new MC books to come out, I love the banter with the hero and heroine. That witty dialogue made the story fun. Add in hot chemistry, and a great love story, and you have perfection.

The voice actor did a great job portraying the characters and giving the feeling of the events. You feel the ups, downs and worries of these characters which is difficukt to do with one narrator voicing both male and female roles. This is a great book, so glad the audio book is done just as well.

Book 1 in a new M/C series . Hero is Maverick . Heroine is Healey . This story has many levels and very realistic . Loved how Maverick wanted the best for his son (John Warren ) Loved how when it came to crunch time Maverick stepped up to the plate .... For his son who he found out later is not his son... Who's son is John Warren .
Healey witnessed a shorting behind a store ... She recognized the cut .. When she tried calling her sister Cass got no answer so she just went home .. Little did she know what she witnessed . Grab it and see how deep the story is. It's a strong love stone. Love the narrator also

I started listening to this book with the bias that MC books were not my thing. I was totally proved wrong with that assumption. I feel that both the author and narrator are very talented. This was the first book that I have listened to by either the author or narrator, but definitely not the last. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, and/or publisher.
