Publisher's summary

I snuck onto the wrong ship. Now I’m at the mercy of the most terrifying and deadly of the Vandar warlords - and he refuses to let me go.

Running away and joining my sister and her Vandar mate seemed like a great idea. Until I stowed away on the wrong ship.

Now I’m on a Vandar warbird flying far away from my home planet, but my sister is nowhere in sight. Instead, I’m trapped with the Vandar warlord they call the Deranged Raas. They whisper that he’s insane, and when I meet the menacing alien, I understand why.

The dark and ruthless warlord might be huge and gorgeous, but he also rules with absolute power and domination. He and his crew live and fight in the remotest part of the galaxy, where there are no rules and no mercy. It’s where he plans to take me unless I can convince him to let me go.

Raas Vassim does not tolerate stowaways or challenge. But I didn’t run away from one controlling life to end up in another. No way will I submit to his commands - even if his touch provokes feelings I’ve never experienced before. Although I fear his darkness, it also stokes a fire deep within me. And makes me want to delve beneath his dominant and savage exterior.

All I need to do to get away from the Raas is to send a message to my sister, which he’ll let me do. For a price. But is submitting to him a price I’m willing to pay?

Provoked is a full-length sci-fi romance novel with a happily ever after and no cheating. It features steamy scenes on a raider warship, alien horde space battles, and some serious heat.

If you like dominant and dangerous alien warriors, alien abduction-to-seduction romance, and hot scenes with a happily ever after, you’ll love Provoked, the sixth book in Tana Stone’s sci-fi romance Raider Warlords of the Vandar series. Each audiobook can be listened to as a stand-alone, but the series is better when listened to in order.

Entertaining

Thrilling story, plenty of action with interesting twists. The characters are exciting to follow, with plenty of banter and bits of steam. The narrators did a wonderful job. I would definitely recommend this book.

Ok

The storyline is much of the same as others in the series, nothing spectacular to make it stand out from others. I like Marcio’s flat and even narration style for Rass Vasdim. Addison did a good job too. Waiting for the next book.

The Deranged Raas!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Romance: 💙💚💜🤎❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙📔
World building: 🌎🌍🌏🌎
Character development: 🫢😤😡😊🥰

The Hero: Raas Vassim - He was cursed by a man he killed in battle, on the man’s dying breath. Ever since then he has suffered terrible nightmares, reliving that same battle in which his former Raas was killed and died in his arms. Not only does he relive the battle in his dreams but he wakes every time as sore and tired as if he actually participated in the battle. So he never gets any real rest.

The heroine: Juliette - she mistakenly betrayed her sister Sienna, who was the main character in Punished. She feels remorse and wants to get back in the good graces of her sister who was leaving their planet of Kimithion III with the bounty hunters that fought the empire along with the Vandar to save their planet. So she sneaks on the spaceship to leave with her sister and her sister’s mate, only to find out that she stowed away on the Vandar ship instead of the bounty hunter ship.

The Story: Vassim found out from a seer that the only way to break the curse is in the hands of an innocent human female with blonde hair. So when he finds Juliette stowed away on his ship, he immediately feels she may be the key to breaking the curse and stopping his madness. He takes her to the mystical planet where the seer lives in order to confirm that Juliette is indeed the curse breaker.

I had read the first three books in the series, but haven’t yet bought the next two and so I listened to this one without yet listening to books 4 and 5. Though this book does reference Punished a few times, I didn’t feel that I missed out on anything. The romance was good and the side storylines about the curse and battles with the Zagrath were intriguing. I also like the supporting characters in this entire series.

Like the first three books I listened to, this was told in dual points of view and narrated by Marcio Catalano and Addison Barnes in duet narration. In duet narration, the point of view (POV) may change at the end of each chapter, though the narrators will split the job and narrate the sections associated with their character. This is my favorite type of narration. The male narrator does all the male parts and the female does all the female parts.

My favorite in the series♥️🔥🌟

The story of The human female Juliet and Rass Vassin of the Vander was my favorite. A tortured warrior and a sweet innocent female with a courage and a heart of fond cone together to break a curse and help defeat the Empire. So freaking good. I just couldn’t stop listening. Once again Marcio Catalano and Addison Barnes do a wonderful job of bringing the characters to life. I just love how MC deepens his voice as the Rass so so delicious. Highly recommend!!

One of the best in the series!

This one has it all: exciting adventure, a wounded hero, and a heroine determined to keep her independence. The action keeps you on the edge of your seat, and the private moments, along with.Vassim’s deep, purring voice, will keep you hooked from cover to cover!

PROVOKED

Bravo Tana Snow, I really love how she bought characters together from different series and made it all work seamlessly. Juliette had her moments where her childish nature caused things to go wrong, do to her lock of acting like an adult. But I guess that is how you build a storyline. All in all I would recommend this book as well as the other books in the series.

Not a Stand-alone and maybe series end

This book is not at all what I expected and ends up on a wild ride at the end by bringing back just about every character from the previous books. This leads me to believe it is more of a series close out book rather than another entry in the series.

These last 2 books have been pretty reliant on already established characters and events so at this point I would not recommend them as being stand-alones. Listening to this book out of order or as the first one would just leave a new listener confused and frustrated.

As for this story, it was just ok. I wasn't expecting so much recycled content. I was hoping for a plus size woman embracing herself worth and a Vandar learning to do the same for himself (considering how he became a Raas). Instead the story was a girl gets a bit sassy and tough, guy decides he loves her thru yet another bolted on rescue mission. It brings back lots of characters which is nice, but just unexpected and a bit rushed/forced.

I love the duet narration style. This is one series where I think it really shines and Tana seems to write for it.

Biggest hypocrite ever!

The narration was pretty good, as always, however I did not care for the female lead. I was annoyed at the main female character in this book when she was introduced in the previous book. Her attempt to control her older sister's life included putting her sister in the hands of a rapist. Again. In the previous book the older sister asked what right did others have to dictate her life. Well the main female character in this book told her older sister that she was being selfish by not staying on their planet to be a punching bag, marry a douchebag and forever take care of their drunk father as well as the female lead from this book (sorry, I can't remember her name right now - definitely a forgettable character). And now in this book, she had the nerve to declare that nobody had the right to say she was a mate? Nobody should be able to dictate her life? Seriously? Biggest hypocrite ever. The Raas definitely deserved better. If not for the awesomeness of the Vandar and all their mates who made an appearance in this book, plus some good action sequences, this book would get a great big 1-star for such a horrible female lead.

TERRIBLE/ HATE THE FMC/ NARRATORS SUCK

****AUDIBLE PLEASE POST MY REVIEW ****

...... The narrators SUCKED!!! The male narrator sounded like a dying robot! He spoke SUPER slowly, enunciating every single syllable! the female narrator sounded IMMATURE, unsure of herself, and I'm not sure how they did it but they made her sound OVERWEIGHT! Like all she want to do is eat all day! Talking about her curves and baking all day!! and then the story was the worst one I've read and I was looking forward to the story and it sucked! the FMC got herself into the situations and had the nerve to have attitude and expect people to get her out of it! How did she expect him to know how she felt about him when she kept saying she didn't want him at every time! had the nerve to get upset with him and feel betrayal when she made it a point to let him know she was nothing to him! he owed her no loyalty........ The damn near insta-love that the MMC felt for the FMC was confusing to me I DID NOT buy it! A curse, a witch WHAT THE HELL? IF I wanted to read that type of book I would have been reading that type of book!! This is a space drama! I REALLY wanted to get my money back!! It was NOTHING like it was supposed to be! It's stupid! and why, does she keep adding the Dothraki people in every one of these books the crossover makes NO SENSE! IT really DOESN'T!! How do you Keep combining desert sand alien with spaceship aliens it's all of STUPID! NOT WORTH your money!! I wish I can get my credit back! It's MY fault I won't read anything else to hers!
