About this listen

He was so big, so frightening, yet somehow, that scaled beast managed to turn her on.

Mariana was the latest young woman to be chosen from the city as the dragon's sacrifice. They took her to a stone alter and tied her up in front of the cave where the dragon lived. She didn't know why she was afraid. All of the girls that had gone to the cave had come back alive. However their eyes held a fear that none of them could explain.

Then she saw him. The powerful beast emerged from the cave. Green scales shimmered in the evening sun. His eyes were ravenous and filled, not with destruction, but lust. There was a thin grin on his draconic lips as he surveyed Mariana's young, supple body. She understood why those girls were so afraid now, but one thing she didn't understand, is why this beast was making her so wet.

Middling short story, may be better in print.

It's not the worst Reuban Hinman aka Alara Branwen story I've listened to, which is backhanded praise but also honest. Surprisingly it's probably one of the better written ones. In general.

Pros: The story is quick, the characters are kind of funny, and a dragon with a massive... ego is actually pretty good. The narrator, unlike several others this author uses, is pretty decent -- they don't stumble over words, they don't put weird emphasis on random syllables, and they're quite pleasant to listen to. The narrator also remains true to the text, so a couple of bits sound weird -- but that's 100% how the author writes. "Sit back and try to enjoy it, you might even enjoy it" etc.

Cons: Too much navel-gazing, too much backstory (it's a 30min short story, who cares about their nondescript childhood that has no relevance?). The narrator performs technically well, but it's like it's presenting a book report to kindergarten kids, not a sultry erotica. In fact, it never at any point sounds like the genre it is. So if you're good with chipper/surprised for the whole story, uh. There's that for you. This book would be an entirely different experience done by folks at gone wild audio etc.

-1 star for spectacular biology fail
-1 star for unnecessary thesaural carnage (nobody calls breasts "tits" one second and "mammaries" the next, and this happens all over the place)
-1 star for spelling mistakes in the dang description.
