About this listen

Show and Tell is a freaky, very graphic love story. Its author, Nelson George, is an accomplished screenwriter, documentarian, critic, and author of several award-winning nonfiction books. In addition, he was a consulting producer on the Emmy Award-winning The Chris Rock Show. A best-selling author, his novels include One Woman Short.

Dean Chance has a good job as a TV producer, and he is content with his longtime girlfriend, Millie. But in a chance encounter, he meets sleek, seductive Bee Cole. She pulls the conservative young man into a world of cybersex that is beyond anything he has imagined. Now, in a realm where anything is virtually possible, Dean has to decide where to draw the line.

Sizzling and suspenseful, Show and Tell submerges the listener in the fantasies that stretch Dean's physical and emotional limits. With Dion Graham's narration, this novel is a compelling and intimate listening experience.

Critic reviews

"George, having tapped into a subject not frequently written about, offers a tale that is sure to captivate readers down to the very last e-mail message." (Booklist)

After going though several action adventure thrillers (DaVinci, Nightingale Floor, Traveller, Angels/Deamons) this book came as a delight. It was slow to start, a bit cheeseball at first. But after a while, it comes through with a very enjoyable and humorous tale. You feel sorry for Dean Chance, but he really got himself embroiled in the classic double-threesome (his own fault); and the results are outrageously funny. Lots of ethnic language and phraseology. I am not familiar with the genre, but it was enjoyable to hear a completely different form of the english language, used with fairly good effect. I gave this a 3 star for the erotic; but it's deserving of a 3.5, primarily for the attempt at an interwoven plot.

I had fun with this book

This erotic thriller is sophisticated and tasteful. It's a steamy escape into the electronic urban world. Though the story is edgy, there's a constant romantic thread throughout, and the narrator's voice is smart and sexy.

Seductive, engaging

This is the most boring and unerotic book I have ever read. The narrator is neither sexy nor interesting.
