About this listen

Even a Master needs a savior...or two.

Jack’s lovers are soon to be married, and his place as their Dominant is unshakable. Then Jack loses the one thing a Dom requires - control over his life. Rory can't wait to get married, but she can't marry both of her men. If she wants the happily-ever-after wedding she's always dreamed of, she'll have to learn to fight for it on her own.

Spencer 's got the woman he loves, and the man he can't live without. Only their future is in danger of being swept out of their hands. He's watching his fiancée fall apart; his Dom fade away; and there's nothing he can do about it...or is there?

I really enjoyed this story

The characters in this story were so relatable, I felt like I could get to know them well, and look forward to reading other books in this series so that I can watch their relationship grow and change. I enjoyed the storyline it was believable, heartbreaking in places, but all things that I could see actually happening.

The multiple voices for narrator was good, at times kind of confusing because it was not like one specific voice was being used for one specific character. Although not how I would envision reading a book this worked and the narration was never a distraction from the story for me.

Although I started this series on the second book I definitely will make a point of getting book 1 and then keeping an eye out for any future books in the series.

Book 1 was better

I rolled my eyes a lot. Could have cut a lot out and added it to book 1 and ended it there. I liked the first book better. I dunno after a little while I had to struggle to finish it.

Let this audio sweep you away

This is a hot spicy listen. It’s a subject that is growing in popularity. Love how the author picked narrators for each character. The story is well developed, with lots of layers . These are and can be real life issues and how someone can handle them . It’s also a fantasy that most of us want to experience but something is stopping us .

The chapters are Jack, Spenser and Rory
The ménage couple have been together now , Rory and Spenser are the Subs in the ménage . Jack is a strong Dom but his everyday like is affecting him outside of the household but more importantly within the household.

Jack doesn’t know why but everything in business is falling away . He needs to grab a grip on it . What Jack is going through is affecting Rory and Spenser wedding day . The threesome right now is in a rut . Will everything work out before the big day. Grab it and find out

The narrators were great. They did the characters perfectly. You knew when each character was done. The voices were clear, strong and steady

Sizzling Hot!

I loved this story! Full disclosure: I listened to it on audiobook, and let’s just stay I was glad I wasn’t listening to it in public, it was that hot! Jack, Spencer and Rory’s second book was just as good, if not better, than this first. Filled with both familial tension, wedding stress, and a surprise visit from the mob, this is one exciting story that I couldn’t put down!

The Power of Three

I liked how Spencer, Rory and Jack's story wrapped up even thought the journey was hard. They had a lot to work through getting comfortable with one another, facing the judgment and adversity they were shown from some family members, Dealing with emotional stress and the handling when one of them withdraws because of that stress. The only issue I had was at times I felt the affection shown to Spencer was different than that shown to Rory and I am unsure if, as their Dom, Jack was giving each what they needed or craved or if there was some favor for one over the other. It just seemed the Spencer was demeaned at times. Which was a contrast from how he was treated in book one. Just my opinion.

Overall I enjoyed the story and the narrators and it has made me interested in diving into some of the stories of the side characters. Narration was good and I liked that there were separate narrators for each of the main characters. I would definitely read another book by this author.

Intriguingly hot!

Finding out that Alyssa wrote a sequel to Polished made me happier than I should ever admit! I thought the drama in Polished was intense but it was nothing compared to this. Where the first book was about the characters discovering their true wants and desires, book 2 is about trying to navigate the life as a triad; the struggles of finding their place in both life and the relationship. Yes, some of the drama was a little over the top, but I wouldn't have it any other way! I love books like this and cannot wait to read more!

The narration was good but I wish the audio editor would have made Jack's parts more seamless.

A good listen that kept me invested

4 Star review Swept (Polished #2) by Alyssa Turner

I listened to this on audible and all the narrators did a credible job. This was a very hot and passionate book which is a MMF with elements of BDSM.

Swept was a more intense listen/read than the first book in the series and had me invested right from the start and it was certainly just as, if not more, steamy.

What happens when your dominant looses his desire to dominate? That is the position that Spencer and Rory find themselves in when Jack becomes distant and withdrawn. They all love each other, there is no doubting that, but Jack seems to have pulled back from the dynamic of their relationship.

Struggling with issues at work and the fact that he is close to bankruptcy, Jack makes hard decisions that go against everything he believes in and that has a knock on affect with his relationship with Spencer and Rory.

Will Jack finally believe that he is good enough for Rory and Spencer, or will his insecurities bring their relationship down? Will Rory have the courage to confront her parents and tell them the truth not only about her relationship with both Jack and Spencer but also about the wedding they are planning? Can Spencer hold the relationship with the people he loves more than life itself together as they all struggle to come to terms with the changes that have occurred?

I was carried away

Rory Campbell, Spencer Hartley and Jack Rothman are in a polyamorous relationship. Their union is further distinguished as Jack is a Dominant and Rory and Spencer are his submissives. This is a new discovery for Rory and Spencer while Jack has freely expressed and explored his sexuality for quite some time. They’ve now been together ten months and Rory is planning her wedding to Spencer and commitment to Jack by also taking his name. Meanwhile, Jack’s new business is in trouble, not because of his competency but due to some really dark elements.

This story is fascinating on so many levels. First, the Dom/sub relationship is portrayed so authentically, distinguishing the behaviors inside and outside of the bedroom. Yes, sexual norms are on full display, erotic and sensual, but what was more enlightening were the everyday dynamics between the three. Next, the dark forces that descended on Jack’s company triggered much more than a typical reaction in him. He’s a Dominant and he has the added desperation of performing in that role as caretaker for his submissives. It drives many of the decisions he makes to protect them within the context of that role. And lastly, their unusual relationship is always subject to judgment by family, friends, neighbors, co-workers and others. The reactions were diverse, ranging from being fully supportive to estrangement or outright rejection. It was interesting to consider the many ways this type of relationship is impacted in everyday life.

This is a duet narration using four performers. I’ve come to love this format, especially when all three characters are interacting with each other. The performance was excellent and the narrators were excellent in distinguishing their characters, too.

There was a lot of tension and suspense related to Jack’s business issues, quite scary in fact. I was riveted by this part of the story. I also enjoyed the family drama as it gave me lots of insight into how Rory, Spencer and Jack were shaped by the people who raised them. While the sexual scenes were highly erotic and sensual, they didn’t eclipse the heart of the story, which was the strength and depth of the emotional bonds between the three. There were so many layers and this is one of the best polyamorous stories I’ve read in a long time.

Nail Polish

Nail Polish

The first half of this book is frustrating for the characters and this reader as Jack lands himself in a situation that he doesn't see a way out of - especially because he's not confiding in the ones he loves and takes on burdens that should be shared. His secrets eat at him and create trouble within the triad. I do appreciate that the characters were kept true to who we were introduced as in book one, even if I wanted to reach out and repeatedly biff Jack.

I like when things start to turn (safe word - nail polish) and Jack begins to make amends and clean things up. The heat levels also skyrocket with this change, which I always love! And then there is that HEA! Oh my. 🍆🍆🍑🔥🔥🔥🔥💥🎉 *fanning self*

Some housekeeping items: This is part of a duet but the author has a recommended reading order that has you reading this, the second book, after Polished, Unmeasured, and Make Me. There are characters that crossover and become big parts of this book. Although, you can just read the duet, if that's your preference.

The other thing is that I listened to the audio book I received from the author. This is the first time I've listened to one with five narrators! It reminded me of a table read for a play with so many voices. It took a little getting used to but Alyssa may have just spoiled me for other menage and RH audio books. 😁😁 The narrators had different accents and were fun to listen to. They were Erin Bateman, Adam Riley, J. Hawkins, Jack Walters, and Vivianna Marlowe.

Sizzling, Exciting, Enthralling!

This was a very exciting and emotional continuation to Polished.

Great Performance, although there were a couple instances were I got confused since I didn't know where a new scene ended and the other began because there was barely a pause in between (this means, I was so enthralled that I was able to caught them when the spell was broken). So for that I rated this awesome performance with 4.5 Stars

The storyline was entertaining, captivating and at times intense. Love the fact that characters were put on more realistic and believable situations, like Spencer's mom or Rory's parents. Jack had it easy with Spencer and Rory, they were too understading and patience, even though Jack was disregarding his responsabilities as their Dom due to the stress cause by the Russian Mob. (I hate Jack's father).

All in all, it was a very enjoyable read/listened, which I highly recommend!!
