About this listen

This billionaire playboy has turned over a new leaf - just in time to become a new dad.

Eddie Jameson has held the title of black sheep in the Jameson family for years. Creative, cocky, and carefree, Eddie had a reputation for being the life of the party and a pain in the ass when it comes to following procedure. However, back in the flagship branch of the Jameson Agency, Eddie is proving himself to be a new man - someone worthy of his family’s respect.

Margot Dale is the daughter of one of Jameson Agency’s most lucrative clients and the girl Eddie has been after for years. New leaf or not, he wants her - and how much harm could bringing the old Eddie back for one night do?

When Margot and Eddie meet unexpectedly at a party, sparks fly and a childhood attraction rapidly becomes an adult sexcapade.

Now Eddie’s role in the company, and in his family, is on the line. Margot is pregnant and for the first time in her life, unsure of how to handle a situation. The one thing Margot and Eddie know they have is a connection - one that strengthens each other and sets off fireworks between the sheets. But they’ll need to decide if love and marriage are really coming with their baby carriage.

Loved the dual dialogue.

When Eddie decided to grow up, I'm pretty sure he didn't have fatherhood on the brain. Funny how life has a way of surprising us with what we never knew we needed at just the right time. Eddie wants to be a better man. Working to clean up his act and prove himself to his family, fatherhood couldn't have come at a worst time. Margot is the girl he never saw coming, but could hardly live without. Friends to lovers to parents is a bumpy ride, but it ends up being the best decision they ever made. Ms. North keeps her trademark sex appeal, but adds humor and heart in this sweet bundle of surprises.

Fall for Eddie!

Eddie Jameson, he is so easy to fall in love with. As children, Margot and Eddie were friends, always together, and always looking out for each other. Now as adults, the two are still close, so close that a one night stand filled with lust and passion ties them together forever! I love Leslie North's writing, she always captures my attention and keeps the story interesting. This friends to lovers trope is fun, couples with a history creates a depth and gives more insight to their feelings and personalities. I love Eddie, there is something about him that is very appealing. His need for approval does have him overbooked and a little crazed, but he does his best to navigate everything. Margot is a little more emotional, chalk it up to pregnancy hormones, but her indecisiveness at times is trying. The two have great chemistry, and throughout the story, it is easy to feel their connection is not just lust, not just a baby but much deeper. This is a feel good story.

The wonderful duet narration is by Marcio Catalano and Veronica Pace. We even get a little singing by Marcio! This is my first narration by them together and I found their voices complimented each other beautifully. They have similar paces and the story easily flowed between them. Looking forward to more by this team.

Delightful!

I really enjoyed this story of Margo and Eddie by Leslie North. They had been friends for years and took things further. The author wove some great humor into this story along with some very poignant scenes. I loved how Eddie matured and wanted to prove himself. The cameo appearances of Trinity and his brother was special too. The Jamison brothers are endearing and yet not perfect. That bit of realism adds to the story.
The narration was excellent! I loved the banter in the book. I always feel good listening to a book by Leslie North. This was time well spent listening. Can’t wait for the next story in this series.

Excellent!

I love Leslie North's style of writing. This story is as good as her others. Billionaire playboy and black sheep of the family decides to grow up and become responsible, which is a very good thing since he just found out he's going to become a father!

Both narrators are wonderful to listen to.

Great story

I love Eddie and his easy going nature. He seems like such a fun guy. I also love how sweet and thoughtful he can be. Eddie getting a chance with Margot after he'd watched her since they were little is so adorable. I really enjoyed these two getting their happily ever after. Veronica did a great narration on the female side and I loved Marcio when he did his Eddie because it just seemed so relaxing and fun to listen to.

Hot fun listen

This is book 2 in the series. I decided to listen to this one then get book 1.
Heroine is Margo. Hero is Eddie
Eddie has been a playboy all his life . It was a game to him . He knew his money and family kept him in the lifestyle he enjoyed. Both Margo and Eddie has been friends for yrs and Eddie has had a secret crush on her for years.
After a night of fun Margo and Eddie don’t know how to act.
But Margo gets a surprise and she doesn’t know if she should tell Eddie.
Both narrators nail it

3 Sweet Stars

Where to start with this...it is not my favorite story by Ms. North but it’s a sweet friends to lovers story. I have not read or listened to the first Jameson Brothers book so maybe I missed it but I feel as though something is missing here. The chemistry between Eddie and Margot seems to be lacking. They have been friends for years, have one drunken night together, and she becomes pregnant. Up until Eddie finds out about the baby he is pretty much a playboy but as soon as he finds out he straightens up and is committed to Margot. That’s all great and good but I didn’t get any conviction or realization as to his feelings for Margot other than, “I’ve always loved her and now she’s having my baby so we should make this work.” As I said previously, maybe I missed the chemistry from book 1 in the series but either way, passion was missing. I’m not entirely sure if it is due to the delivery by the narrators but I don’t believe so because I genuinely really enjoyed the performance. I thought that Mr. Catalano and Ms. Pace did a great job at bringing the story and the characters to life.

All in all, it is a sweet story and a quick listen but I wish that there was a bit more depth, chemistry, and unbridled passion throughout.

A Delightful Duet

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I was pleasantly surprised to hear that this story was told in Duet - while the narrative is told in alternating dual 3rd person POV, all dialogue is done by the appropriately sexed narrator. This really added to the listening experience in my opinion. I did feel that the narration was a bit lopsided between the two voice actors; Veronica Pace is consistently on point in depicting the feel of the story and emotion and intent of the characters, but there were many times Marcio's inflection and tone did not match that of the character (mostly Eddie) or the situation he was depicting and that detracted a bit from the story. Other than that, the tale of Margot and Eddie was cute and fast paced, with a suitable amount of the steam I've come to expect from Leslie North. I think I may have enjoyed the story more if I had read book one, but it read decently as a standalone. 3 out of 5 wine glasses.
