Publisher's summary

Clara is fearful as she is bound to a stake by the soldiers of her city, and carried to the mountain top to serve as a sacrifice to the dragon. Trepidation tears at her soul, as she stares at the cave in front of her and awaits her fate.

When the dragon emerges, a large, winged beast made of muscle and scales, she's confused when it doesn't eat her right away. She is also surprised that she can communicate with it, to a limited extent. Clara is able to understand that the creature wants something from her, but what? What part will this large beast play in the young, virgin woman's fate?

Could have been more!

This one was very good for what it was, but I feel like the author had potential to make this a full novel instead of a short story. I was wanting to know more about the world and lovers. The performance was very good.

Could have better audio

As an audio production company like Audible, I thought the stories would have sound clips, multiple voice actors, and background music.

Skip to 32min in, you won't miss a thing.

40min book

20min of backstory/navel gazing that is eminently skippable as the character has no idea what's going on.

5min of attempted interspecies communication and I WISH that was a euphemism.

5min of bland oral with a very lacking "ribbon" of tongue and some magic erogenous zone "to the left". The left of where? We'll never know.

2-3min of blah blah blah.

7min of getting it on with a dragon in weirdly clinical terms. Not how it feels, just a recitation of things that happen; heat pools, liquid releases, etc.

Constant bizarre referral to women's bits as "maidenhead" and "maidenhood" (one means hymen, the other virginity, and I'm not sure if you're still considered a virgin with a "floppy member" the size of a tree trunk stuffed inside of you). "Mammaries" makes a couple of hilarious appearances as well. I continue to be both puzzled and disappointed that fanfiction continues to have more polished writing than these books. You'd think there would be improvement over time, but you'd be wrong.

There is the usual (expected, at this point) homonym confusion, grammatical carnage and the author really needs to have their thesaurus taken away from them. Similar words don't have the same meanings. "Flittering" is a thing, "arcing" instead of arching, and of course the weird aversion to using words like "cock" or "dick" in erotica continues here as well. It's like those fanfics where the author decides they can't use the same word twice referring to something, except it isn't even a humorous attempt to come up with as many euphemisms for "dick" as possible.

So exactly what you expect from these authors, and probably one of their better books. I still wouldn't recommend it; the bar is still so low it's buried underground here. (The only reason I keep on with these is that there have been some decent to excellent ones that were up with Audible Escape, and I am still trying to track them down. Current best, beyond Taken By The Triceratops for sheer wtf value, is probably Taken By The Gryphon. Maybe? One of the gryphon ones. That's the problem with giving all your books the same names.)

Narrator is, for once, entirely faultless. They get a little monotone at times, which is kind of unfortunate in the middle of a sex scene, but otherwise are completely listenable and not something to just suffer through. Considering other narrators from these books, that puts this one out there ahead of the rest by quite a margin.

If logistics stop your engine, don't get.

What would have made The Dragon's Virgin Sacrifice better?

Sex scene was nothing out of the ordinary. What kept me from really enjoying the book was the logistics. How can a creature with legs the size of tree trunks be able to mate with a human?
