Entertaining listen

💬𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲:
The Makeup Girl was a fascinating listen. There was dual POV and narrators. The MMC - Ethan was in a relationship that was toxic and just downright manipulative. The MFC - Ivy was in a relationship that left her hurt and with nothing. However, in the end, the two characters met at their workplace, had a witty and interesting meet at work, and later had a one night stand which invoked deep feelings. Can they make it work? Will they find love in each other? Or will they go back to their ex's? The story was interesting and entertaining. The female narrator was okay but I was a bit lost with the male narrator. However, they did an okay job.

🤝🏽Τακεαωαγ:
Being in an unhealthy relationship is depleting, depressing and totally not worth it. Depending on your spouse for everything, can be very detrimental for a partner, especially if that spouse has no wish to be considerate and have a high standard for spending. Being independent is wonderful. Just like finding the right person to love you is worth your peace of mind.

Narrators Shine in This Romance

The story had its moments but didn't fully capture my interest. The characters’ inner monologues seemed a bit repetitive, and some of their choices felt impulsive, which made it harder to feel connected to their journey. I had hoped for a bit more chemistry between the leads and a bit more depth in the storyline, as the plot felt surface-level at times. While the humor didn't quite land for me, I can see it appealing to others. Once the main characters did come together—though it took a bit longer than expected—the story did improve. However, after a few repeated misunderstandings, I found it hard to stay engaged. On a positive note, the narrators brought a lot of life to the story, and both did a fantastic job in making the listening experience enjoyable!

The narrators were both very good

I think the story was well written and the liked the multiple, first person, points of view.

Perfect, realistic Romance!

I've been following Eddy Twice's books for a while now, and they are all brilliant. But this one is special. She writes in a way where everything is very real. There are no outrageous, unrealistic meetings of the main characters. I could pretty much visualize everything, and that was awesome.
I read the first half of the book and did the audio for the second half. And what a treat! The narrators both did a fantastic job! I especially liked the male voice. But they were both really great. I highly recommend the audio version of this book. It definitely gives it a little something extra!

It was also totally great timing. In the book, the main character is gets a new job, and I started reading it the very same day I started a job. So, all of her feelings circling that situation were definitely relatable. I know from

Cute Romance

A cute contemporary British romance set in the UK. The 2 female lead characters did not impress me with their maturity, at the beginning; but the MC grows and develops thru the book.

Sweet Romance

This was a fun, entertaining, funny read. I enjoyed the characters, they were realistic and relatable. Both Ivy and Ethan were struggling to find true love. The plot was hard to follow at items, but the sweet romance came through. I was engaged enough to want to know how they worked everything out.

The narration was not great, it felt very computerized, it kind of grew on you. But it definitely took away from enjoying the story. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
