About this listen

All three books of Renee Rose's best-selling Regency series are now available in one volume. The Westerfield Trilogy includes:

The Westerfield Affair

Reserved to the point of being aloof, Lord Westerfield never attended balls or considered taking a wife...until he met Miss Kitty Stanley and his orderly world turned on end. Determined to have the animated sister of his friend but doubting his ability to effectively court her, Westerfield strikes a bargain with her brother for her hand.

When the gentlemen present Kitty with the deal, she is furious with them both for neglecting to consult her. She acts out at a ball, causing a scandal that mushrooms when Lord Westerfield drags her unchaperoned to his home for a firm spanking.

The Reddington Scandal

When Phoebe's brother-in-law catches the notorious rake Lord Fenton in his home late at night, half-dressed and obviously attempting escape, he flies into a rage. In a desperate measure to avert bloodshed, Phoebe claims she is Lord Fenton's lover, thereby forcing him to take her as his wife to avoid a scandal.

Knowing full well a philanderer like Teddy Fenton could never remain faithful, Phoebe intends to resist his charm rather than fall in love. Her handsome husband respects her request for a marriage in name only, but his marital dominance manifests itself in other ways. She soon learns Teddy is more than willing to take her over his knee and spank her bare bottom when her behavior warrants it.

The Darlington Incident

When spymaster John Andrews receives word that plans are afoot to sell England's secrets to her enemies during the Ides of March ball at the Westerfield Estate, he is determined to bring an end to this treasonous game. Posing as a gentleman by the name of Lord Darlington to stake out the event, he is ready for anything as he mingles with the members of the ton...falling for his prime suspect.

All three storylines are good and the narration is good. But unless spanking is your kink these stories get awkward really fast.

Not so bad

I generally like Renee Rose, but this one missed the mark. Of the 3 books, I'd listen to The Reddington Scandal and The Darlington Incident again. The first I seriously struggled to understand how Kitty could have fallen in love. Harry either spanked her or ignored her.
I bought this knowing it had spankings and other such things. That said this isn't what I generally expect. Only in the last one does Eliza give any kind of agreement and her first spanking was extremely harsh for something she didn't do or know anything about. In the 2nd Phoebe kinda knows what she's getting in for.
Overall I'd say skip this and grab any of Renee Rose's other book and you'll enjoy it more than this one.

It was ok.

I throughly enjoyed this audiobook trilogy. Interesting time period. I laughed out loud a few times. Some men can be teddy bears toward their women. A+++

I really enjoyed this audio book. I loved the books, so I knew I would love the Audible version. I started listening and I loved the narration. He did an excellent job. His voice is very distinctive and I could tell the different characters just by listening to how he voiced them.

Wonderful!!

Listening to the audio rendition of the Westerfield Trilogy set, I am deeply enamored by the voice of the male narrator, his deep husky voice and changes in voice for each character adds an enthralling dimension to the story.
A typical period romance, except for the titillating scenes and sexual encounters . In a way these scenes make this a more believe able story, than others I have read.
I am flabbergasted at the scope of Ms Roses writing. Having read and listened to a number of her books, each one different and unique. Yes, her inclusion of the risqué may not be to everyone's taste, but I have found that the sexual encounters of her characters were within the context of the story she was portraying.

I am glad I was not a woman born in this time

I couldn’t get through the book. Half the time the female protagonist is crying and whining. I usually really like Renee Rose but apparently she can’t do historical fiction or writes too realistically for a modern audience. The weepy woman got on my nerves so much I couldn’t even get through the first book in the series. Unfortunately, Audible won’t let me return it, so I’m stuck with it. Don’t make the same mistake.

The female protagonist is the worst

the narrator wasn't good at female voices and the story was weak at best. I didn't bother listening to the 2nd and 3rd stories.
