About this listen

Wild, hot, addictive sex….

After seeing one too many patients die regretting the things they haven’t done, nurse Lucy Seymour realizes she’s been making the same mistake. So when Robbie, the sexy golf instructor, makes his move, she responds with uninhibited passion, telling him there’s nothing she won’t try. Long sessions of foreplay lead to thrills and fantasy fulfillment…until Lucy sees Daniel, the greenkeeper, watching them. Watching her. And then Daniel does more than just watch…he joins them.

Can it lead to love?

Lucy might be exploring all of her secret fantasies, but her reality is that she’s a one-man woman…and for her, that man is Daniel. But what does Daniel really want? Lucy or the fantasy?

Mixed but liked it overall...

I didn't review this book immediately after finishing it so while I remember the story, I don't remember the names of the characters. First of all, I could really identify with female main character as far as some of her on-the-job experiences including both the good and the bad (especially the sometimes crushing stress). Starting my 28 year career as a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) and working my way through to a Master's degree in Nursing, I found myself learning a lot from patients and their families (especially from those dying and in Intensive Care).

What I couldn't identify with was the love at first sight she had with the main male character (the groundskeeper), someone she professed to love before she ever had a real conversation with him. I suppose I am one of those pragmatic people who doesn't believe in love at first sight - lust, sure, love, no. That is my opinion to which I feel entitled to based on my own experience but I also respect other opinions as well. When reading a story, though, it is harder for me to invest in a insta-love troupe.

The other issue I had difficulty with was why she consistently continued to have sex with her instructor when it was the groundskeeper she wanted. She seemed to have dropped the ball there (pun intended).

Lastly was the minor point that golf is one of the few sports in which I have no interest. That being said, I thought it was an unusual but interesting setting for the story.

In conclusion, I liked the story and enjoyed the narrator's accent as well. I felt the sex was a backseat issue (almost gratuitous) with several important messages such as living to the best of one's ability while staying in the present as the "meat" or moral of the tale.

Ho-hum story...narration took getting used to

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The narrator...her accent was TOO strong for this American. I was able to adapt as I got used to it.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

I really liked it.q

How could the performance have been better?

I LOVE accents, a performer with a bit less would have made it an easier listen.

Did Three Over Par inspire you to do anything?

Read more 'trashy' books!

Any additional comments?

The book is mostly about very graphic sexual content. The story of the threesome relationship as it evolved kept my interest. I loved Dan's grandmother too!

TITLE SAYS IT ALL

Basically set at a Golf Club (well mainly it's bushes to be more exact) the Club Instructor Robbie and Lucy happily play golf but find the game of anything goes in carnal pleasures more enjoyable than playing golf - until they're observed then joined by the Groundsman Daniel.

Very explicit and hot yet it has it's thought provoking, tender moments when the game for 3 becomes a game for 2 as only one of the men captures her heart and he's playing to win.

Australian narration.

Worth a credit? I bought it on sale and would suggest, if the sale's not on, putting it in you Wish List and wait for another sale as there's (in my opinion) better, more credit worthy books out there.

Truly awful story!

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Someone who is looking for a really bad romance.

What was most disappointing about Cathryn Brunet’s story?

The entire premise of the story was so far fetched & the main character so pathetic I can't believe I even listened to the entire book. I kept hoping it would get better!

How could the performance have been better?

Not having a narrator with such a broad Australian accent. I am a Kiwi & used to an Australian accent but this narrator was awful.
