About this listen

All steamed up and nothing to read? Voracious: Erotica for Women opens a Pandora’s box of pleasures, with scorching encounters, dreamy partners, and heart-pounding thrills that won’t put a run in your fishnets (and a few that will). In Teresa Noelle Roberts’ "Voice of an Angel", an opera costumer helplessly infatuated with a countertenor - a man who sings a female part in baroque opera - makes interesting discoveries as she measures his inseam.

In Susie Hara’s "Puffy Lips", a refined woman indulges her primitive urge to take what she wants from a modern-day caveman in a dark alley. Kathleen Bradean’s "Chill" describes the lengths to which the heroine will go to enact her unusual, icy fetish at an exclusive "spa". "Kink was the candy coating that made sex tastier," she explains. "Fetish was sweet dark chocolate, straight up." Stylishly edited by sex guru Violet Blue, these edgy erotic treats showcase the most daring, best-written erotica available. And, like a gorgeous lover, it complements any bedroom decor.

Terribly disappointing!

I received this audio book as a gift in exchange for my honest review. I feel terrible for accepting this gift since I could not endure the entire book. I tried. I kept saying, "just listen to one more story" yet I could not bear to listen any longer. This is actually a benefit to the office; if I had to force myself to listen to the entire audio book, I am sure I would have left an extremely low rating.

I love erotica and love all types of erotica so I was excited to have the opportunity to read/review this audio book. Unfortunately, this audio book starts off with an extremely wordy, unnecessary introduction. The introduction seems to be the editor's attempt to provide readers with a quirky, condensed summary of each of the short stories contained in this anthology. However, this was a complete waste of time and in my opinion, false information. This introduction got my hopes up, giving me a preview of the exciting, titillating and tantalizing stories I was about to hear yet none of the stories came anywhere close to being good let alone tantalizing!

From the start I was unimpressed, thinking that the very first story was awful. I could not understand why anyone would choose that story to begin an anthology. I would have rated that 1st story 2 stars and that is being generous! The second story, "Inked" by Jordanna Winters was even worse than the first story! Basically, the story was was a scene between a man and woman then it just ends – that's it! What a waste of time! I will not continue to give specific examples as storing was similar: BAD! I have read and enjoyed many anthologies and many short stories so it is not the brevity that was the problem nor was it the content. These were simply bad, dull, poorly written stories.

The narrator, Kaylee West, did her best to bring life to these stories yet the material stood in her way. I could tell from what I did hear that Ms. West is quite talented. I look forward to hearing more from her in the future.

very good anthology

Would you listen to Voracious again? Why?

Violet Blue, usually puts together very good anthologies of erotic short stories. In this collection there are some really wonderful pieces from authors I've never heard of before. There's something for every one in this book BD/SM Straight, Sweet, Romantic.....has a bit of it all but REALLY Woman who want it NOW>

What was one of the most memorable moments of Voracious?

I won't give out spoilers but there were several very excellent ones

Which character – as performed by Kaylee West – was your favorite?

Kaylee West is very good at reading erotica. I've heard her do several anthologies and she can express passion and need and want, very well

Any additional comments?

I'm glad to see that Audible is making many of these books available. Many of them were only in Written form, but now that they are available on audible. I think with a good narrator, the stories are MUCH HOTTER.
