Born in London and now living on the beautiful island of Barbados, Gail Jewel Hunte is a well-known advocate for animal protection and education. She is the host of the popular seasonal radio show Animal Craze, where she interviews a range of guests live on air to raise awareness about the well-being of animals. Gail is the editor-in-chief of Animal Talk Magazine (Barbados) and the founder of Gail’s Wildlife Totes and La Cat Connoisseur, where she creates many of the tote and T-shirt designs. As a children’s author, she writes books that foster a love for animals and educate in fun and engaging ways. Gail has also written three short plays for an adult group with special needs, and they have won awards. Gail herself was awarded the Prime Minister's Certificate of Achievement for her re-telling of Cinderella. In Gail's version, the character opts out of marrying the Prince in pursuit of earning a degree and becoming independent. Gail is a trustee with an animal welfare charity in Barbados, a proud cat and dog mom, and she loves the ocean. Some of her favourite things include eating dark chocolate, and she says she's not afraid of spiders. Gail’s dream is to see one of her children’s books made into an animated TV movie.
