Sophie Russell is a therapist who focuses on marital and family counseling. She specializes in helping sufferers of emotional abuse understand their situation, confront their abusers, and regain control over their lives. Sophie grew up in a dysfunctional family where emotional abuse was the norm. As a teenager, she realized that it wasn’t normal, but that it wasn’t a unique situation either. This realization inspired Sophie to study psychology: she wanted to help herself, her family, and other families in similar situations. Over years of practice, Sophie has freed dozens of women and men from abusive relationships and carefully guided them through their recovery. Her goal is to empower her clients with knowledge and practical tools to overcome their unique challenges. Sophie began writing psychology books because she wanted to share her knowledge and experience with as many people as possible. Her books are practical, beginner-friendly guides to topics such as narcissism, codependent relationships, and living as an empath. She is happily married and has two children. When she’s not working with her clients, writing books, or spending quality time with her family, she’s practicing yoga or hiking in the woods. She is also owned by a cat named Jeremy.
