Few performers have had as diverse and fascinating a career as Jim Dale. In the 1960s he became a pop star and songwriter, earning an Academy Award nomination for penning the title song for the film Georgy Girl. He has starred in dozens of stage productions with the British National Theatre Company and on Broadway, and in 1980 he won the Tony Award for his performance in Barnum. He currently stars in his own one-man show, Just Jim Dale at the Roundabout Theater Company in New York City. Recently, he was inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame. His film work includes Pete’s Dragon and another Academy Award nomination for his leading role in 1973’s Adolf Hitler: My Part in His Downfall. TV fans will recognize him as the narrator of the cult favorite series Pushing Daisies. And that's all before we even talk about his work as a narrator.

He has won two Grammy Awards, seven Grammy nominations, ten Audie Awards, and was the first inductee into the American Audio Hall of Fame. Jim on narrating books for kids: "I don’t talk down to children and you should never do that as a narrator as well. Just be sincere."
Jim on narrating the classics: "After the Harry Potter series, lots of kids got in touch with me and said, 'What can we listen to now?' I remember recording [children’s classics like] Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan and probably my favorite, which was A Christmas Carol."
