Story
Why did Agatha Christie spend her career pretending that she was "just" an ordinary housewife, when clearly she wasn't? Lucy Worsley's biography is not just of a massively, internationally successful writer. It's also the story of a person who, despite the obstacles of class and gender, became an astonishingly successful working woman. With access to rarely seen personal letters and papers, Lucy Worsley's biography is both authoritative and entertaining and makes us realize what an extraordinary pioneer Agatha Christie was—truly a woman who wrote the twentieth century.

Doing Justice to The Christie Legacy
Reviewed: 02-17-24
As always, Lucy Worsley has brought shining light to hidden aspects of history with an entertaining and engaging voice for storytelling! This book was a joy to listen to, and never disparaging, always understanding, but also not glossing over the times in which Agatha wrote her masterpieces and how that influenced some of the language used and views described. Worsely didn't give Agatha Christie a free pass simply for being a National Treasure, but never used language to try and "cancel" Christie either. Worsley simply gives us the framework to understand Christie, the times in which she wrote, but also how Christie's views changed over time, balancing some of her earlier more problematic and narrow views, with Christie's other, more Progressive and groundbreaking views and actions. I also appreciate that Worsley views Agatha's disappearance through an understanding lens, and through today's more Progressive views of mental health issues, which is a perspective that has been much needed of that dark period in Agatha's life. I'm so glad that Lucy Worsley has the gravitas needed to bring light to these facts with this high profile book, in order to clear Agatha's name of the rumors, and bring to the forefront mental health issues that were so badly misunderstood during Christie's time, but that which with today's understanding of mental health issues, will bring a greater sensitivity and relatability to Agatha's story. This book also gives the reader/listener a deeper understanding of Christie as a multifaceted, self contradictory character in history, as we all can be over the course of our lives. At once Christie was a groundbreaking and trailblazing woman author, the most successful author EVER, male or female, and a shining example of female empowerment and achievement, but who also never quite grasped her own impact on society, and never fully acknowledged the power of her own legacy and work! Genuinely humble, living and enjoying the little things in life day to day, while also being powerful & influential, with a will of iron! What a great example of how to conduct yourself both on the road to, and upon, great success in life! Thank you, Lucy Worsley, for illustrating this shining example so brilliantly, and for doing justice to Agatha's legacy!

Story
Comedian Alan Davies invites four very funny and talented guests to join him around a table and chat. Their one task? To come up with a title for the show based on the stories shared. It’s as simple as that. It’s completely unscripted, unprepared and unrehearsed.

Alan Davies Can Do No Wrong!

As Yet Untitled is my all-time favorite show EVER, and I love that I can now get new episodes via podcasts! What would be lovely next would be to get 2018-2021 seasons available somewhere! I watched and practically memorized seasons 1-3 on Britbox here in the U.S., it kept me feeling comforted, happy, and less lonely during the worst of the pandemic, and I squealed with elation when I saw that 2022 and 2023 are available on Audible, just need the rest now! I laugh my BUTT off at these shows! It feels like you are sitting around with your best friends listening to and telling funny stories and laughing til you cry with great big belly laughs of joy! It's brilliant! And this season is no different! I think my favorite episode this season was Champaign Campinion, HILARIOUS! Favorite episode for 2022 season was Chin Chin, B!tch3s (sic)! lol. Gawd, I just love anything Alan Davies does, he's got the golden touch! And he seems like such a lovely and kind person too, on top of being hilarious (and adorably cute!). I HIGHLY recommend As Yet Untitled. Literally the best podcast and TV show I've ever watched. And I'm 40 and was a latchkey kid in the 80's and 90's and was basically raised on television, so still watch quite a bit of it, so just imagine, nearly 40 years of TV watching, and this is the pinnacle for me, it's GOT to be MAGNIFICENT...and it IS! Thanks for this gift of entertainment, Alan Davies! I hope for many more seasons from you in the future!

Story
Coming to you from The Roundhouse in Camden, the show recreates the relaxed atmosphere found among bantering comics backstage. There are no rules, no themes and no preparation. All Alan has is a couple of intriguing facts about each of his guests, after that, the conversation spirals in all directions. Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled – The Extended Podcast contains loads of exclusive extra stories and banter that couldn’t be broadcast on the smash hit TV show.
