Story
My whole life has been characterized by fighting; fighting my family and fighting for my life. Trust me—the first one is completely voluntary, and a lot of fun. The second? Not so much. To say my family dynamic is weird is the understatement of the century. I held my first sword when I was only five years old, and I learned how to dispose of a body before I turned ten. I may have a penchant for pink and sparkles…but that doesn’t mean I don’t know how to kick major ass as well.

I loved this book so much and immediately bought it when I saw it on audiobook and I was not disappointed. * it took me a second to get used to the female narrator's voice, listen to the sample before you buy :)

Story
Fi has always known there's something not quite right about herself. Not quite human. For as long as she can remember, Fi has been sensitive to other people's emotions. So sensitive, she works a night job as a cleaner to avoid being overwhelmed by all of their feelings. After a night on the town goes wrong, Fi comes to the attention of the Academy of Avalon. The obscenely beautiful jerk of a man who comes to collect her confirms her suspicions - Fi isn't human at all.

narration was just ok

I had a hard time with the female narrator. She had a slight lisp and it kept taking me out if the story. Like at one point I was wondering if she had ever received speech therapy, at another point I wondered if her particular accent was causing the lisp and so on ...

He’s excited until he actually meets her. Betrayed by her government in a bid for alien technology, poverty-stricken human Sara is doomed to be a prince’s sex toy, until she’s rescued on a planet that doesn’t take kindly to slavers. narrator was hard to listen to at times

the narrator of cathian was amazing, but Samantha summers (who voices books 2-4) uses a Stuck up/ whiney voice for some of her female characters which is a total turn off.
