Overall a nice story. Not sure this is Whoopie’s forte. Maybe a bit more practice under her belt is needed.

The slide into wokeness continues for MC. An author’s inability to keep their politics out of their books is a bit depressing.

Renee Ballard is a shockingly unlikeable character. MC goes through great pains to paint her as brilliant, and determined, then undermines that when he repeatedly points out she’s mentally weak.

My least favorite of his Bosch books. Not a fan of the Ballard character. It’s beginning to seem as if her entire purpose is for MC to add a dash of political wokeness to his stories. Hoping this isn’t an upward trend.

King really can’t seem to keep his radical politics from being in his stories lately. Holly isn’t the easiest character to love anyway, but making her a radical is the worst path to lead her down. My love affair with Steve has reached its conclusion.

There is really only one reason Fred wrote this third installment, and that’s simply to bandy about every tired woke trope he could possible think of. It’s two hours of story grossly inflated with 19 hours of virtue signaling. Disappointing.

Not well written, and very poorly narrated. Overly dramatic, and yet overly mundane. Worst Forstchen book ever.

The more he interjects his politics, the less I enjoy his books. Save the sermon, Steve.

The reader has slight pauses in the weirdest places. You’d think King put commas all over the pages in some spots. Really off-putting.
