This is a great story and the narration was impeccable. It really added to the overall feeling of immersing oneself in a wonderful novel. The plot was interesting and I was drawn in from the very beginning. The ending was very satisfying but it felt like there were a lot of close calls, closed doors, and then ingenious legal work by our protagonist Sarah Kellerman. This is the first in a series and I look forward to devouring the rest of Mancini’s excellent work. Highly recommended!

I am so excited that Cara Hunter’s Adam Fawley series continues to be released on Audible. Hunter’s novels are second to none. I love the characters in these books. There’s so much heart put into the writing, which is excellent. The police produceral is taken to the next level with excellent interpersonal relationships between the characters, exciting and innovative plots, and plenty of twists. I love the multi -media style of Hunter’s novels. No Way Out was excellent as usual, didn’t disappoint, and I would highly recommend it along with the first two books in the series that are currently on Audible!

An addictive debut psychological thriller for fans of "The Girl on the Train", Liane Moriarty and Lucy Foley. This is the story of Lucy and Paul. They met. They fell deeply in love. They got married. Lucy thought that she had everything she wanted. Until she found the photograph, the text messages. Until she uncovered Paul's secrets. Now Lucy realises she doesn't really know her husband. This book is very well written, funny at times, and darkly suspenseful. The characters were insightful and interesting. The main character, Lucy, simply doesn’t trust herself in love and relationships but she falls hard for Paul- and then she is set up for a very dangerous game. The twists were well-done. Maybe not unpredictable but enjoyable nonetheless. I really liked it and am gonna give it my four and a half stars of excellent approval. Recommended!

I can't say enough how much I liked this first of Cara Hunter's DI Adam Fawley series. Close to Home is a great book and a really enjoyable read. I love the characters- they are realistic and not cookie-cutter cops. You can tell that these people have heart when doing their jobs. I liked the 'mixed media' style with emails and news stories inserted throughout. Unlike other reviewer(s) I didn't find the 'comments' on news stories very tedious. It's realistic and adds to the intrigue, and the Twitter campaign becomes part of the story. The central mystery kept me listening late into the night. Details brought up throughout the book all link together as the book comes to its conclusion! The narration is spot-on and realistic. I think this is an excellent book in a great series and I highly recommend.

Beauty and Brutality, Haunting and Healing

I was blown away by this novel. The concept of the Child Finder herself was very unique and captivating, and the story, between different points of view, contained elements of magical realism that I have never experienced before. The writing was lush and exquisite, and the narrator did great justice to the author’s work. I became lost in this icy, haunted landscape as Naomi works in her subtle, quiet way to try to find a little girl who has been lost from the regular world for many years. The descriptive beauty of the words coming together to form such haunting, beautiful writing was brilliant, to me- as if each word carried meaning. The words could be strikingly painful, brutal while also profoundly touching and affecting, and redemptive. I loved this book and give it my highest recommendation!

A Heck of a Ride, start to finish!

I really enjoyed Be My Killer. This is one of the first truly "unputdownable" audiobooks I've listened to in months- I've been in a slump, even after getting all the big-name and big-hype suspense thrillers this season. Thank goodness for Be My Killer- I needed this! A finely written, suspense-filled, gory small-town mystery, just what I needed for a great marathon read. The book has a very interesting premise- a filmmaker and her dedicated crew go back to her small hometown of Brookfield, VT to make a documentary about a series of violent murders, the last one having happened in Broomfield, sparked by a nationwide Twitter #bemykiller trend. Personally, I love the whole "behind the scenes" feeling, and especially the extremely creepy setting of an abandoned amusement park- the scene of the most recent murder. Add in the elements of slasher-film fun (no, don't go downstairs to investigate that noise!) along with an interesting backstory, and you have one dark and disturbing but captivating and entertaining book. The narration was great also. One small note to readers- the narrator uses British inflections on some words but it's still an American accent and in an American setting; but the author has used 'petrol' instead of gas, and other British terms. With a British author and a British publisher, why not just have the book set in England and have a British narrator? Just a curiosity. This did not detract from the experience at all, because the narration was excellent. Thanks Mr Parker for getting me out of my slump. Highly recommended!
