I loved every minute of it! The story encouraged my faith enormously. The reader had a terrific reading voice and a real knack for accents. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to be encouraged and also enjoys true adventure.

Story
For David Goggins, childhood was a nightmare--poverty, prejudice, and physical abuse colored his days and haunted his nights. But through self-discipline, mental toughness, and hard work, Goggins transformed himself from a depressed, overweight young man with no future into a US Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes. The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force tactical air controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events.

I couldn't finish-too much swearing
Reviewed: 03-09-22
Sorry, this just was not grabbing me. Way too much swearing and really not that inspiring. I was very sorry for all that he went through in his life. I am glad he overcame. There weren't any practical takeaways at all for me.

Story
When Navy SEAL Adam Brown woke up on March 17, 2010, he didn’t know he would die that night in the Hindu Kush Mountains of Afghanistan - but he was ready: In a letter to his children, not meant to be seen unless the worst happened, he wrote, "I’m not afraid of anything that might happen to me on this earth, because I know no matter what, nothing can take my spirit from me."

Well written, well read, truly inspirational story
Reviewed: 03-09-22
If you read one book about our military, read this. It is so inspirational from beginning to end-even in the dark times. I really felt I knew his family when I was finished. I laughed and cried out loud with this one. This man's life will forever inspire me to live more self-sacrificially and give all that I can give. I gained even more respect for our military personnel and their families. This is well-written and well read (I love Paul Michael's accent). This was riveting-I had to keep listening no matter what. I read a lot of books and this will forever be in my top 5 favorite books.

Story
It’s May 1863. Outgeneraled and outgunned, a demoralized Union Army has pulled back with massive losses at the Battle of Chancellorsville. Fort Sumter, hated symbol of the Rebellion, taunts the American navy with its artillery and underwater mines. In Beaufort, SC, one very special woman, code named Moses, is hatching a spectacular plan. Hunted by Confederates, revered by slaves, Harriet Tubman plots an expedition behind enemy lines to liberate hundreds of bondsmen and recruit them as soldiers.

Can't stop listening!
Reviewed: 06-16-19
I am thoroughly enjoying this book and cannot stop listening. Harriet Tubman is my heroine, as she is many others. To have an inside view into her life is wonderful. I did not know much about this time in her life, so I am enjoying learning about every minute. Heidi Franklin (the narrator) does a great job with the different characters and her voice is wonderful. I have read some of the reviews -not liking the romance-although, yes, unnecessary, Elizabeth Cobbs handles it well and it does not dominate the story. Harriet is strong and keeps her focus. For anyone who loves Harriet Tubman and learning more about her life this is a must read/must listen!
