I liked everything about this one. Fun with a modern twist and a good story. Pierce gets his redemption.

prepare to yell at cat "come on...do something, over and over. She gets there little by little oh so slowly. At long last she comes to the realization that regret is a part of life and what if is a bottomless well and DOES SOMETHING!!
Of course she immediately goes back to self flagulation. 🙄 She does far to much inner dialog in this one.

I enjoy this series and would recommend it, but if I could ask most authors a question, here it is...why is self blame and self hatred such a common arc for heroines!? What does this teach young women? Do better. At least this arc starts to turn the corner.

interesting storyline if a bit predictable. Unfortunately the heroines tend to be consistently and frustratingly stupid, but it all turns out in the end.

This one is so disjointed, Olivia is still a Jerk until almost the end, and has the emotional maturity of a child.

she's always sharp, rude, obtrusive and an overall jerk. she's almost pathologically devoted to blind denial and incredibly annoying till the bitter end. I'm not sure what makes her think she's so much better than Kyle for so long. He's not beneath her because he's kind and reliable. if a man acted like she does we'd be appalled. Kyle could do better. Also, virtual voice is lame.

this girl has a serious mean streak and there's never been a reason for it. Towards the end she improves. Audio voice comes close to ruining the rest.

It was slow and dull, and the heroine was a very unlikable know it all. It could have been so much more. it did seem unfinished and there is a book 2 called Gothic revival, if interested.

I like the story and world building but tge main character has the emotional maturity of a 5 year old. constantly full of tedious self recrimination, sacrificing all to punish herself for things beyond her control, lying to people who love hwr in a bid to punish herself blah blah blah. Come on...a bit of self love here...let's be realistic!
