Emmy Award-winning actress Tatiana Maslany narrates a brand-new special edition recording of the first audiobook in the worldwide best-selling trilogy from Suzanne Collins! In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by 12 outlying districts. BEAUTIFUL
Reviewed: 03-12-22
Expected a perfect book from all the praises for the hunger games, and I was not disappointed. This is amazing and beautiful. The story is compelling, and although it is a story that would probably never even happen in our lives, I felt so relatable to the characters all along.
And the narrator's voice and pace was really good, but it would be better if she made a little change in her voices when the characters are speaking.
But still, this is a must-read. Absolutely beautiful.

pretty nice... but I'm not sure...

first of all, the Eadlyn & Eikko couple jus came out of nowhere! I could tell the author was trying to make a plot twist from Kile to Eikko, but this was too much. Eadlyn did not feel any romantic feelings for her future husband until like the last three chapters!
and the narration was a bit disappointing too. The narrator tried to create a man's voice, but ended up sounding like a child mimicking his father.
also, why does the author suddenly push Marid into such a terrible person in one chapter? She made Marid as a helpful character, but suddenly turning him into a villain which kind of helps Eadlyn grow, was too sudden it did not make me feel as nice when it made Eadlyn become mentally more mature.

I wasn't sure if I was ready to move on from Maxon♡America to the next generation of Eadlyn♡(someone who I dont know because I haven't read the crown yet). but this story didn't disappoint me. the characters, since there was really A LOT, was very relatable. Also, I could compare how the characters from the first three books have grown up into, which was much more interesting than expected.
but one thing was that the plot was kinda messy. it had just too much going on at the moment. just too much that I couldn't deeply relate nor concentrate on each and every element of this book.

didn't fail my expectations, not even one bit. although I think I like the first book better, this one was very enjoyable and entertaining. the gripping story of America kept me going throughout the whole book that I finished it in two days!!!! I've never finished an audiobook so quickly :)
throughout the first few chapters, I thought that cass turned all the characters to jerks. but actually, it was a part of a big plan that started from the first book and (hopefully) continuing even at the third. cass has amazing talent in making people fall in love with her story <3

I didn't expect much; all the comments were saying it was a mix of hunger games or whatever. but actually, I quite liked this book. the plot seemed a bit childish at first, but believe me, it is much more thrilling than all the terrible plot summaries on the internet. it's so good I'm actually going to read the next book :)
one little thing about the narrator. I liked her smooth, elegant voice, but her tone rarely changed throughout the book, kinda like a robot. it was hard to tell when the characters were speaking or not.

I loved it SOOOOOOO MUCH! the story was great, and it really touched my heart. the book's really fantastic, and I can promise that for sure. it would go in the top ten best books I've ever read. so touching, heartwarming, and beautiful♡♡♡
only one thing I didn't like though. I am disappointed about the fair amount of swears in this book. I think a good writer should be able to write something good without including a cuss word in it.

good, but not perfect

I quite enjoyed it actually. but i have to point out a few flaws.
first, the many narrators' voices are way too different. I struggled to settle to the new narrator's voice after each story.
next, the last chapter was quite under expectations. the plot made no sense. I would like to go deep in that problem, but I will not because it may contain spoilers. Also, that last story's characters did not match how they were described in the <Heroes of Olympus> and <Percy Jackson and the Olympians>.
so to sum it up, a few things I did not like, but overall pretty good and enjoyable! really recommend it if you want some nice fantasy to listen when simply relaxing.
