Story
Some think Leviticus is a “boring” book, yet it springs to life with the masterful storytelling skills of Dr. Bill Creasy. Listen as he weaves the texture, tone, and color of daily Israelite life during this amazing period of biblical history. With its emphasis on personal holiness, atonement, and sacrifice for sins, Leviticus separates the Israelites from their surrounding culture, calling them to be holy, as God is holy.

Story
In 1 John: Audio Lectures, author and New Testament scholar Karen Jobes seeks to bridge the distance between academic biblical studies and pastors, students, and laypeople who are looking for an in-depth treatment of the issues raised by these New Testament books. She approaches the three letters of John as part of the corpus that includes John's gospel, while rejecting an elaborate redactional history of that gospel that implicates the letters.

On point, accurate and breathtaking. No fluff stays on task and gets the job done. I've been studying the Koine Greek for 22 years and have had a hand in many translations. I decided to look deeper into 1 John 5 and got this audiobook while traveling. Riveting from start to finish. I immediately purchased some of her books, not disappointed. A brilliant mind, filled with God's Holy Spirit. All men should hear what the Spirit says here.

Story
In an eloquent defense of Calvinist theology, author and professor Michael Horton invites us to explore the teachings of Calvinism - also commonly known as Reformed theology - by showing how it is biblical and Christ-centered, leading us to live our lives for the glory of God. The system of theology known as Calvinism has been immensely influential for the past 500 years, but it's often encountered negatively as a fatalistic belief system that confines human freedom and renders human action and choice irrelevant.

Story
In this definitive biography, renowned Bible scholar, Anglican bishop, and best-selling author N. T. Wright offers a radical look at the apostle Paul, illuminating the humanity and remarkable achievements of this intellectual who invented Christian theology - transforming a faith and changing the world. For centuries, Paul, the apostle who "saw the light on the Road to Damascus" and made a miraculous conversion from zealous Pharisee persecutor to devoted follower of Christ, has been one of the church's most widely cited saints.

NT Wright Learned To Wright. His Mona Lisa!
Reviewed: 02-28-21
NT Wright has finally grown up as a writer, it took him decades but I think he has found his stride. He must be cooling off his manuscripts and polishing over every sentence. No longer is the work placed on the reader as a burden, but finally the author does his job so the kiddies can get to the cookies. Well done.

Dont Let My Rating Keep You From Listening
Reviewed: 02-25-21
The nuggets in this book are well worth the price of admission. Regardless, it does employ a level of "Cheese" that is unnecessary. Many of the side bar conversations and quotes seem distracting and unnecessary. To top it off, your going to get bombarded with some pretty interesting elevator music. I personally cranked it to 1.6-2.0 towards the end and sat in silence to focus. At this speed you can essentially skip all of the worthless dross they folded the beginning and ending of each chapter with. Also, IMO you can just skip straight over the Commandment stuff. That is, if you're actually planning on witnessing to human beings on the planet earth, who have no concept or meta-narrative. I know that flies at the heart of what they are trying to do here, but I think the primary premise "that you have to give people the law so that they will better understand sin in life" is true, but missing the forest for the trees. Maybe its simply better to explain the need for the law as a whole and how it failed, ending with Moses saying they needed a new and Jesus doing just that? Regardless, great value and worth all of our time.

A compliment to the book only
Reviewed: 02-23-21
This was a nice extremely short 1/36th compliment to the book, if that. Notice the run time of less than 3 hours. You would need to be very familiar with the book to get anything from this resource. Again, as with all of these “four views”, the editor is at fault, by simply not doing any work at all, save handing out the rules for the contest. Great work by the Authors, less than zero stars for the editor. If your not able to place names on chapters, do the listener the favor of at least introducing them. It would be nice to know who is talking! Wow.

Story
Romans is the definitive statement of Christian doctrine - the most comprehensive book in the New Testament. Its impact on history is unequaled. This is the first in a trilogy (Galatians, Hebrews) on Habakkuk 2:4 - "the just shall live by faith" - which later became the mantra of the reformation. It has an international outlook: As a Roman citizen, and with both Hebrew and Greek culture of history, religion, philosophy, poetry, science, music, etc., Paul's Epistle to the Romans is the most profound writing that exists anywhere.

The setting is a Church, so you will get the end and the beginning at the start and end of each session. I personally didn't mind the repetition, because the meat in between was so heavy, it made the minor inconvenience worth it. The prayers at the end of the sessions were an added bonus, rather than an unwelcome distraction.
Although I do not agree with everything Dr. Missler says Theologically, it is clear that his ideas are well thought out and coherent within the entire whole. I thoroughly enjoy his preaching style and even his murmurs which are completely intelligible to anyone truly listening to what he is saying.
Well Done! I can't wait to listen to more of his work!

Technical Issue, Makes Audio Unbearable
Reviewed: 02-16-21
The Voice has an equally competing noise of background hum. This is unfortunate since its so easily scrubbed out in just a few seconds with any modern audio application. 14 hours of solid content with an annoying highway in the background competing for your attention with the content, makes it not worth the journey. Someone in charge of this audio, please take 5 minutes and run this through a filter to remove it!
