Story
For Susan Green, messy emotions don’t fit into the equation of her perfectly ordered life. She has a flat that is ideal for one, a job that suits her passion for logic, and an “interpersonal arrangement” that provides cultural and other more intimate benefits. But suddenly confronted with the loss of her mother and the news that she is about to become a mother herself, Susan’s greatest fear is realized. She is losing control.

At least Eleanor Oliphant had some redeeming qualities

She was incredibly self-centered, and I felt nothing for her. I wanted as far away from Susan as possible.

Story
In a sleepy seaside town in Maine, recently widowed Eveleth "Evvie" Drake rarely leaves her large, painfully empty house nearly a year after her husband’s death in a car crash. Everyone in town, even her best friend, Andy, thinks grief keeps her locked inside, and Evvie doesn’t correct them. Meanwhile, in New York City, Dean Tenney, former Major League pitcher and Andy’s childhood best friend, is wrestling with what miserable athletes living out their worst nightmares call the "yips": he can’t throw straight anymore, and, even worse, he can’t figure out why.

It was a cute little story, but not one that particularly resonated with me. I had a hard time connecting with the characters, but the story was decent nonetheless.

A wonderful tale of love across the ages
Reviewed: 09-16-19
This is a beautifully told tale of a love that stretched past every barrier that it came across, even going as far as to shake a fist at time.
You may think this plot has holes, and albeit, it does, but it’s better to just enjoy the ride, rather than to study all of the contingencies.
This is a read that I thoroughly enjoyed from beginning to end, and I would most certainly recommend giving it a chance

Raw
Reviewed: 09-08-19
In short, this book, and the performance by the narrator, was wonderfully raw. I absolutely loved how our main character, Lenny, was portrayed by the author. What I can appreciate the most, however, is that with all of the dark, heart wrenching things that happened throughout this story, we were given a beacon of hope. That even though things may not turn out how you’d planned, you’ll still survive.

Wasn’t too keen on the ending, but loved the narrative
Reviewed: 08-15-19
First off, I absolutely loved the narration. Each character was portrayed in a way that I felt was appropriate, and the manner that emotions were expressed by each character was just...amazing.
Now the story? Did NOT go where I thought it would. I don’t know what I expected to happen, but certainly not what occurred. I guess that’s the point of thrillers though, huh? Wonderful twists will lead the way to a shocking reveal.
Now, I personally feel that the story could’ve been ended just a little bit differently, but perhaps the author was setting herself up for a sequel? Who knows, but I very much enjoyed the story!

Had a great narrator, but a lack-luster story

I didn’t enjoy this book. I had high hopes with the reviews. Oddly enough, the entire book seemed to draw around the theme of babies, loss, and people being generally terrible.
I wouldn’t recommend this book, but it simply wasn’t my cup of tea.
