Story
Ryder, Garrett, Kenzo, and Diesel - The Vipers. Their deals are as sordid as their business, and their reputation is enough to bring a grown man to his knees, forcing him to beg for mercy. They are not people you mess with, yet my dad did. The old man ran up a debt with them and then sold me to cover his losses. Yes, sold me. They own me now. I’m theirs in every sense of the word. But I’ve never been meek and compliant.

Trash

I'm shocked that this book is so highly rated and recommended. The dark material is not the issue, it's the absolutely terrible writing and lack of any character development.

Story
Adrian Maddox fled his royal life - and tragic past - in Sector One, choosing instead to join up with the O’Kanes. For years, he’s lived by one rule: love fast, love hard, and always be willing to walk away. He’s managed to guard his heart, keep it whole and untouched - until now. They couldn’t be more different - Dylan, the brilliant, burned-out doctor from Eden who drowns his pain with drugs and self-destruction. Scarlet, the sensuous, sexy rocker from Three. And Jade, the whore turned spy from Sector Two.

This narrator is awful

The narrator absolutely ruined listening to the book. I gave up and will just read it instead. It sounds like AI reading it, the inflections are so odd and the character voices are terrible.

Deeper themes than expected and more emotion.

Great Narration by Wil Wheaton. I was told I had to listen to this one. While having no reservations the themes and emotion were heavy and enkoyedable. I couldnt put this one down.

Story
It has been 20 years since the end of the war. The dictatorial Augurs, once thought of almost as gods, were overthrown and wiped out during the conflict, their much-feared powers mysteriously failing them. Those who had ruled under them, men and women with a lesser ability known as the Gift, avoided the Augurs' fate only by submitting themselves to the rebellion's Four Tenets.

I was wary at fist to listen to a Tad Williams book but I was richly rewarded. Great narrator and great story. It filled in some gaps from Memory, Sorrow and Thorn. You will need to listen to the series before moving on to this title.
