I do not enjoy laughing at others misfortunes. The narrator laughs at himself to hide his embarrassment but it is not funny.

It’s a nice cozy, but I miss the Jack narrator and the slight sauciness brought by the visits with Jack. I won’t be continuing with the series.

Books that end just before a big reveal or resolution seem like a cheap way to get someone to commit to your next book. A very cheap way

Loved the acting, especially Cobie Smulders and the actor that voiced the rookie detective Dimetrie (sp?) The story was a fun ride

The lecturer’s positions are clearly portrayed while not sliding into didacticism. The lecturer cites interesting facts to illuminate the writings of Flannery O’Conner.

A competent cozy mystery. The lead character is a bit too sweet and all the personal drama and anguish could be resolved by speaking up. The mystery and the magic create an enjoyable world.

The first book was good - interesting characters, well plotted, good story. The story is not as well told in the second book. The motives of the characters in the third book are muddled and the story seems to be a clunky device to keep people moving around.

The louds are too loud. The softs are too soft. I spent most of my listening time with my hands are on the volume. The voice actors were wonderful.
