I really liked that the story kept building to things I didn’t see coming. It had so many twists and turns that it kept my interest and focus from start to end.

Fans of psychological thrillers or psychological twists and turns will enjoy this book as much as I did! I don’t believe in giving any details of books I review so you will just have to count this as a very positive review from someone who does not write many reviews!

Story
Reeling from a traumatic break-in, Emma wants a new place to live. But none of the apartments she sees are affordable or feel safe. Until One Folgate Street. The house is an architectural masterpiece: a minimalist design of pale stone, plate glass, and soaring ceilings. But there are rules. The enigmatic architect who designed the house retains full control: no books, no throw pillows, no photos or clutter or personal effects of any kind. The space is intended to transform its occupant—and it does.

I won’t say anything about the plot or give anything away. I just shook my head over and over throughout this book because it was sometimes shocking but still really compelling! I am a big fan of psychological thrillers and this absolutely did not disappoint!

Story
Cass is having a hard time since the night she saw the car in the woods, on the winding rural road, in the middle of a downpour, with the woman sitting inside - the woman who was killed. She's been trying to put the crime out of her mind; what could she have done, really? It's a dangerous road to be on in the middle of a storm. Her husband would be furious if he knew she'd broken her promise not to take that shortcut home. And she probably would only have been hurt herself if she'd stopped.

Great book but just a slight problem w/ narrator
Reviewed: 10-19-17
I really, really enjoyed this book but I could hear the narrator either swallowing her spit or smacking her lips or something and it really got on my nerves. That is the one pet peeve that I absolutely cannot stand so I am more likely to not listen to other books with this narrator.
