Story
Lee Gulliver never thought she’d find herself living on the streets—no one ever does—but when her restaurant fails, and she falls deeper into debt, she leaves her old life behind with nothing but her clothes and her Toyota Corolla. In Seattle, she parks in a secluded spot by the beach to lay low and plan her next move—until early one morning, she sees a sobbing woman throw herself into the ocean. Lee hauls the woman back to the surface, but instead of appreciation, she is met with fury.

Just enough twists
Reviewed: 03-26-24
The story had just enough twist to keep me interested, and not so many that it made my head swim. The beginning is a little unbelievable, as far as the naivety of the main character. But then you get sucked into the story and you just have to see how this train wreck of a story ends 😊… one thing about the narration that drove me. Crazy was the mispronunciation of Spokane, and there were several other words that were completely mispronounced.

Great start —- terrible finish
Reviewed: 01-17-24
Really enjoyed the beginning and middle… good pace, then it took a left turn at Albuquerque and went straight to crap. If I’d have tagged this book on the first half, 4-4.5/5 … ending, a 2. Also, should find a new editor for the inconsistencies that should have been caught.

Story
Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing as an average woman. But it’s the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute takes a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant, Nobel–prize nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results.

This book was not good. I quite literally hated all but four characters…. Spoiler alert one of them she kills off half way through what was a promising start.
I wanted to shank half the characters in this book for being top of the line assholes!!
