Story
In the ancient kingdom of Dumnonia, there is old magic to be found in the whisper of the wind, the roots of the trees, the curl of the grass. King Cador knew this once, but now the land has turned from him, calling instead to his three children. Riva can cure others, but can’t seem to heal her own deep scars. Keyne battles to be accepted for who he truly is—the king’s son. And Sinne dreams of seeing the world, of finding adventure.

Disappointed
Reviewed: 05-10-25
I loved Keyne’s and Myrdhin/Mori’s trans and gender queer storylines. The book would have been so much stronger if they had been the only narrators. Honestly, the women’s stories (besides Gwen whose storyline is very thin) center men who for the most part ruin the lives of these “foolish” women. But these men still get their redemption arc. Or at the very least their freedom. I get the Y.A. criticism, mainly because of the general lack of character development. The characters in Sistersong don’t feel like full human beings.

Sapphic Love

This was a really fun read. The two main characters felt like whole human beings. And who doesn’t love a well written sapphic love story. I enjoyed this.

Indira Varma 🪄
Reviewed: 07-04-24
Indira Varma elevates this series to a whole new level. Each character is clearly identifiable and sounds even more real than I imagined one narrator could pull off. Amazing!!

Story
Meet our heroine, Mo. She’s every dyke’s dream—or so she’s been told by her kind and supportive friends. She’s shy but passionate, politically aware, as committed to her egalitarian all-womyn’s softball team as she is to her volunteer work at the Gay and Lesbian Community Center. So why can’t she find a girlfriend? Could it possibly be because she’s more judgmental than Gertrude Stein and more self-sabotaging than Bojack Horseman?
