Story
In my dreams, I never escaped the Oregon woods. Life after death isn't easy to accept, especially when I still feel like a ghost. Now, I live deep in the mountains of Montana—the paradigm of beauty. But they are also the home of horrors. Horrors that I only unleash at night. When my pigs are allowed to feast.

Oh this book! We not only get Mollys story but we also get her own romance and all the catharsis! A MUST after reading/listening to Hunting Adeline! It also leaves open the chance for the world to expand, as the author has said, she has big plans for the "Cat and Mouse" universe! My only quip with the audiobook was the male narrator. I didn't feel like his acting really showed through like the actor that read for Zade, so the spicy scenes felt a little less spicy. Otherwise, loved this!

I am loving these books! The female narrator could be better, she sounds a bit robotic especially in the spicy scenes.

Story
Hades, God of the Dead, does not take sides or bend the rules. He makes no exceptions to these values—not for god or mortal, even his lover, Persephone, Goddess of Spring. Usually, fear prevents retaliation. But not this time. When Hera, Goddess of Women, approaches Hades with a plan to overthrow Zeus, he declines to offer help. As punishment, Hera sentences Hades to perform a series of labors.

Narrator honestly sucks
Reviewed: 03-11-23
The narrator for the counterpart to this book genuinely understands how to portray the erotic scenes and give character to the different voices of the characters. I would greatly prefer a deeper voice, for one to portray Hades, and the way he voices any other character is awful and doesn't seem like he even tried to listen to how the narrator of A Touch of Ruin and a Touch of Darkness voices and it becomes confusing. Also, why is Hades old lovers name different in this book? Her name is suddenly Luz when it was Layokie before? Where's the continuity? I just wish all of these make perspective ones were redone

Story
When ballet dancer Clara Campbell arrives in New Orleans, lonely and homesick, she is immediately captivated by the story of Windisle Plantation and the tragic tale that is said to have transpired beyond its gate. Legend has it that it is abandoned by all living souls, but to Clara’s great surprise, it is not a ghost she hears through the stone wall surrounding the property, but a flesh and blood man: a scarred stranger with a pain deeper and darker than the churning waters of the Mississippi river that flows beside his self-imposed prison.

Different, but still magical, and unpredictable

This story turned out to be such a whirlwind, and took completely unexpected turns. I love when I cannot guess the ending to a story, and am left guessing until the end, and that's exactly what this book did. Touched on several very important topics. Would recommend, not your typical romance, loved it!

Leon, a night shift worker, will take the apartment during the day, and Tiffy can have it nights and weekends. He'll only ever be there when she's at the office. In fact, they'll never even have to meet.

Being 100% honest, I only got this book because I saw that Carrie Hope Fletcher narrated some of it. She is one of my favorite YouTubers and I would be honored to meet/possibly work with her one day 😘
Aside from that, the writing is fantastic! So many real life elements worked into a romantic comedy with a bit of mystery was so refreshing! I absolutely love all of the dialogue, I don't think there is ever a dull moment, there is always something going on. I laughed, I cried, and I was bawling with happiness at the epilogue 😂😂😂
100% recommend

Absolutely wonderful! The writing style weaves more magic into this already magical story!!! Carrie has been one of my favorite youtubers for several years and I was kicking myself for not buying her books as they are being published on a yearly basis now. Always enjoy her voice so I knew I had to listen to it (much easier as well since I live in the US and her books aren't sold in stores here) can't wait until she does All They She Can See in audible!

FANTASTIC!!!
Reviewed: 01-06-17
I have to be honest, when I heard that the main character's name was Alice I thought that this story would be another retelling of Alice in Wonderland. Although the nonsense and magic is definitely there, this is a wonderfully original story line! I absolutely am looking forward to the sequel suggested, and any other books by this author! This is definitely now one of my favorite novels and I'll be purchasing it in hardback as well! ❤💐

I first read the series when the 3rd book had first come out in 2008. It has since been one of my absolute favorite series'. Obviously, since having read it first, I had ways the names were pronounced and voices already in my head, so that was a bit confusing. And in the book there's a glossary in the back for the ancient language, dwarf language, and urgal language with meanings, which this verbal edition doesn't include. Overall, it was nice to hear the story again when I didn't have the time to physically read it.
