This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Someone who loves stereotypes, no plot and horrible writing
Would you ever listen to anything by Sawyer Bennett again?
yes
Any additional comments?
I am SO glad the Kindle book was free, but I am heartbroken that I spent over a penny on the audio version to go along with it. I HATE authors who stereotype rich people as shallow, stupid idiots who think they are better than the rest of the world. Right off the bat my hackles went up with this one. When whatshisname said his parents assumed he'd be with a girl who wears pearls and cashmere, I wondered what planet the author thought these people came from!! Seriously?! A college guy? Then whatshisname suddenly becomes starry eyed about a waitress who is gorgeous despite her facial piercing and tip-dyed hair. The handwriting was on the wall for a very predictable and formulaic story.DNF

Would you try another book from Marie Force and/or Holly Fielding?
I will skip Marie Force from now on. She has shown that she has no idea what she's writing about and just makes up nonsense,
Would you ever listen to anything by Marie Force again?
No.
Any additional comments?
This book is preposterous. The author needed to do some serious research before making such a huge deal about recycling styrofoam. It's not accepted by recycling companies! And yet it was a HUGE deal in the book. Also, the whole thing about 3 roommates finding true love simultaneously with 3 brothers is ridiculous, especially when one of them ends up with a guy who has a beloved daughter she acts like she can't stand for most of the book. No loving father would subject his kid to that! There were some pleasant moments throughout the story, but most of it just left me wondering what the author was thinking.

It's OK
Reviewed: 12-02-15
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
It was OK. I listened to it while I was doing other things, so I didn't really waste my time.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
The narrator seemed pretentious and self-aware. It bothered me that she added chuckles and breaths for emphasis that just seemed annoying. I've had a lot of experience working with voice talent and audio editing, so I am probably way more critical than the usual listener, but she really rubbed me the wrong way. I also wished she had picked a pronunciation for Stefano's name and stuck with it. She constantly wavered between STEFano and SteFAno. I will probably avoid her books in the future. Her little girl voice is grating, and her foreign accents are over the top. All in all, not my favorite.
Was Scandal With a Prince worth the listening time?
It was just so-so. I couldn't find anything better to listen to at the time, so I stuck with it, but the story got pretty annoying in the middle, and I about gave up.

Story
After losing her boyfriend, apartment, and job in the same day, Janie Morris can't help wondering what new torment fate has in store. To her utter mortification, Quinn Sullivan—a.k.a. Sir McHotpants—witnesses it all then keeps turning up like a pair of shoes you lust after but can't afford. The last thing she expects is for Quinn—the focus of her slightly, albeit harmless, stalkerish tendencies—to make her an offer she can't refuse.

one of my all time favorites
Reviewed: 11-03-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely! The main character is so goofy, and she is like a lovable walking encyclopedia. She is clueless about her allure, and that makes her all the more lovable. The main male character is also wonderful in his alpha male possessiveness and need to protect. There is plenty of pathos in the story, and it's just all good.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Definitely the female lead character. I felt like I was getting quite an education with all of her random fact spewing. Her knowledge of her need to do that was also appealing on that she tried to squelch it now and then, but her male counterpart loves it so much and encourages her to spout away. I've actually been around several people like this, and her genius and borderline Asperger's symptoms are pretty realistic.
Have you listened to any of Jennifer Grace’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Excellent.
Any additional comments?
If you've spent any time around the truly gifted portion of the population, you will understand and appreciate this story. It's wonderful.

I might listen to it again after enough time goes by.
What did you like best about this story?
The characters in Penny Reid's books are always engaging and wonderful. This is no exception. She never writes down to her readers, and her characters seem believable even with their quirks.
What about George Allen and Lucy Rivers ’s performance did you like?
They both have pleasant voices that do both male and female extremely well. You never have to guess who is talking. They also have a firm grasp of the story, and it shows through their narration.

Story
For Rose Gardner, working at the DMV on a Friday afternoon is bad even before she sees a vision of herself dead. She's had plenty of visions, usually boring ones like someone's toilet's overflowed, but she's never seen one of herself before. When her overbearing momma winds up murdered on her sofa instead, two things are certain: There isn't enough hydrogen peroxide in the state of Arkansas to get that stain out, and Rose is the prime suspect.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I had to quit listening to the book and switched to the printed format. The narrator is that bad.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Twenty-Eight and a Half Wishes?
The story is fun and has plenty of twists and turns to keep you interested. There is humor laced throughout.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
This has to be the absolute worst narrator ever, and I fail to understand how she was hired for the job. The cadence of her words is grating. Each sentence begins with one very loud word, and trails off, and that pattern is repeated over and over. The word stresses have NOTHING to do with the meaning of the phrase. She sounds like an overly excited 6 year old at a birthday party.
But even worse than that is that she mispronounces everything over 3 syllables long. She changes letters and turns words into total nonsense, leading me to wonder if she's only semi-literate.
I will never, ever listen to anything she narrates again.
What would have made this romance irresistible?
More romance. There isn't much.
Any additional comments?
The story stretches the bounds of reality. I get that it's a fantasy of sorts, but someone with visions and a dog that is smarter than people... too much. If you want a fun little story with plenty of plot twists, then read it. Just don't listen to it.
