Not a great story, a fine story, but the narrator made it worse. She can't pronounce garage. and she can't do any other voice than her own. A huge disappointment.

Loved it! Can hardly wait for the sequel. Want more from.these characters. Thank you, Victoria Benton Frank, for writing and taking me to another world when I most needed it. Life's hard times are so much easier with a good book, and this is definitely one of them. As well, it is a great beach/vacation read/listen. Or, long car drive listen. Enjoy!

Bad Narration
Reviewed: 01-12-23
The story itself isn't bad. But the narrators weren't a good pick. Listening to them bothered me as much a chalk being scratched along a chalkboard. It was just good, decent reading. of words... not pulling me into the characters. At best, boring and irritating.

ZERO. ZERO. ZERO. For a well crafted book, you would think there would be at least a little character development, but no. NONE. Huge disappointment. Half way through I had to skip to the back of the book just to get it over with. Sad, bad ending as well.

So Disappointing
Reviewed: 06-05-20
Could hardly wait for this book to download. What a sad disappointment. I think good stories start with characters you truly care for. And I cared for none of these. They were shallow and one dimensional. as well, the lead female is way too naive for 29. SPOILER: The lead male is an out and out self righteous sociopath painted up to be a do gooder liar: someone who lies and steals because he is such a good person as if that rationalizes it. Never mind the people he hurt along the way. Just sickening. Then, the ending was so unbelievable. And sad. I get this feeling Giffin had to fulfill a contract, her heart wasnt in it, and the people who have written glowing recommendations are an active part of her book club and see or talk to her often, or were paid to write them.
Giffin truly is a gifted writer. But this is not a good book. Don't waste your time or money.
