I enjoyed this detailed account into life in Norway during the 14th Century. Follows Kristin from birth to death telling a typical life of a woman during the middle ages in Scandinavia. Reminded me of an adult "Little House on the Prairie." Great for history bluffs or anyone interested in Norwegian culture.

This is one of the best novels ever written and Rosamund Pike is wonderful in her dramatic reading. Two sisters with strikingly different personalities (one with sense and the other a drama queen/ or with extreme romantic sensibilities) have a change in fortune. A new home introduces them to new friends who will make lasting impressions. Both become broken-hearted but how they respond to their sorrows sets the stage for plot twists and turns that keep the reader eager to hope for goodwill to prevail. A classic with rare insides to human nature and family dynamics.

i really enjoyed this book primarily about Jane Bell and her mother-in-law, Thora Bell. written in Julie Klasdrn's usual Jane Austen style.

Georgia Tann, founder of the Tennessee Children's Society, earned big bucks helping elite families adopt babies and children. But were the children evolved in her brokage scheme orphans? Hear the captivating tale about a famly torn apart, babies stolen at birth and children kidnapped from their homes. Great read!
